Greehheartgames is not a multimilliondollar game development company. It’s a small startup company founded by 2 brothers. So they need and deserve every penny from the game sales to be allowed to continue their adventure.
They also had a lot of sales actions in the last months, so it’s not fair playing a “free” version of the game, giving the fact that it is also a very convenient game in terms of sales price
I understand your desire to play this game, as you couldn’t surely resist to want to have it. So it would be more than fair to go and check this game legally out as soon as you can.
I can’t imagine that you will get only positive or neutral comments on this, so my advice to you would be… “klappe halten und schnellstens nachkaufen” (for the english speaking: “shut up and buy it later as soon as possible”)
So, yes, you should feel bad about playing a “free” version
I will as soon I get the money… I will find a way them enough money to give away hundreds of copies. That is what I feel I owe these amazing brothers for their creation…
P.S. this raises a question of mine. Just because I don’t have a ‘legit’ copy. Does that mean I have to stop modding until I do?
Don’t worry! I had a hacked version too, then I found $10. I made a deal with my mom and dad, and they said they’ll put in it their bank account. A day later, near my birthday, they bought the game for me!*
I agree totally, but that’s the thing. I have no way of getting any money. As I am in high school with a terrible neighbourhood. No transportation. Parents live paycheck to paycheck. Like I said I will give every penny I wish I had for this, but alas I have none…
I you’re are at least 16 (I don’t know where you are from) you could check for a day or two a job, like paper delivery, pizza delivery or something similar and you would have your money in a day
Or help some relatives cleaning up car, garden or whatever, or help some neighbor to bring home their purchases to get some euro.
I know, your parents will not have the money for “a game”, so well, there are several alternative ways you could get 10$

Anyways, I’m 15. I live in a college city, where every job is taken before noticed available. My neighbors are all stuck up and (a bunch of things that inhumane to say) don’t communicate with anyone. So doing the listed options is kinda difficult…

There is NO such thing as a FREE version, It’s more like STOLEN version.
You should uninstall the game, just because you don’t have the money doesn’t give you the right to steal it!
You can compare it with wanting a bike, you’re not gonna steal a bike because you don’t have the money for it!
I also find it strange that you have a computer that can run GDT and an internet connection, but can’t find 9€ to buy the game… srry but that’s a load of ****.
As for modding, I will not support you nor should anyone else… So first of all remove my compatibility check from your mod…

You do know he’s 15 and his computer is probably his parent’s.
You also do know that stealing a bike reduces 1 bike from circulation, depriving someone of their bike, while downloading a non-legit copy does not deprive anyone anything.
The guy admitted using the game without paying for it, wanted some support because he does feel bad about it. Like most people if he likes something he wants to support it, which is traditionally done implicitly by purchasing it. He wants the game this is not a lost sale by choice not by circumstance, with circumstance being he doesn’t have money for it.
Don’t need to ostracize him because he’s unfortunate. What you do need to do is like everyone else encourage him with suggestions on how to get that $10.
It deprives GHG of their well earned money, your comment makes no sence at all!
Just because GDT is a digital product doesn’t mean stealing is less bad then stealing a bike.

I have said it a couple times before, but the i do not have the money arguement is used quite a lot lately.
You do live in a country though where pc’s and fast internet is available, since you have both.
But still the means to earn yourself a couple of bucks are not available.
I would say you are not looking/trying hard enough. ( I will hold back on the ‘When i was your age’ speech )
It’s not fair towards GHG, but also it’s not fair to anyone else that did buy the game and is helping GHG to develop new games in the future.
