Should Expansion And DLC added for Large/AAA games which is not MMO?

Most Games have at least 1 or 2 Expansion/DLC
why limit these feature to MMO ?

Expansion/DLC game sales will be limited to Original Games Sales
Game Size will be 1 size lower than Original (Large->Medium,AAA->Large)
but the price will be somewhat more expensive , half the price of Original probably

I agree. I want to make Expansions/DLCs to my non-MMO games.

i was thinking about the same thing, many games in history have expansions and this should not be limited to MMO’s only.

Yup, would be good to do plenty of Expansions. Perhaps there could even be a negative modifier if you do too many/too expensive DLC.

I thin kthe problem is that normal games sould have to be much longer in the market. Because you would have to create the Add-on and the main title has to be live until the Add-on releases.

But what about the thing that many companies do today:
Finish your game and then start to create a Add-on, while the main title isn’t released yet. The main game would be in a waiting list or something while the Add-on is created.

There are so many possibilities in this game, it’s great!

Yeah something like this would work. I also think the DLC/Expansion route would help with the sheer amount of games created in this. 50+ games after 30 years is a massive amount, especially as I’m reliably making multi-million pound profits within my first ten games made. No big game dev pushes out that amount of releases, even the ones with multiple studios usually struggle to hit more than a game a year.

I could see DLC’s being a neat addition, and could even make use of Grid, but I don’t think Expansions are necessary outside of MMO’s. Sequels do the job pretty well, in my opinion.

I agree with this 100%! If you guy’s add a feature where if you release a game, let the sales go longer, so for like 1-2 years and in that time period, release expansions or something as a game thats very profitable, we go to make a sequel and it completely fails.
