Save Game Feature

First off let me start by saying I love the Game. Huge Tycoon fan and this one was a refreshing game to play. Hard at first until you got onto it. Bankrupt my first company and then completed the game with my second. Got a total score of 43.6M. Anyways Im here to say that the save game feature could use some help. The chose of were to save the game and overwrite would be nice. Also the load game area was a bit confusing as my old company was still there and I couldnt get rid of it. So maybe a look into that. Love the game!!! Keep it up!!!

Good to hear you love the game.

To ‘get rid of’ your old company, start a fourth game and save into that slot. There are three slots for separate concurrent playthroughs.

As for the automatic overwriting, that’s the “one save only” approach to game design. The fact that you have an autosave alongside it makes it not a very pure example, but the gist of it is that it keeps you from scumming to get a perfect outcome. This is a more compelling feature when you’ve played the game through repeatedly and can compare your high scores to one another.

Understand what your trying to go for.

Are you planning on making the game larger? (I finished it in only a few hours)
Or if you finish the game but want to continue it gets surprisingly tougher?

I never did get a chance to train through all the training options or research all the components before the end of the game.

I’m not actually a developer for the game, so I can’t be planning on anything. I’m just one of the more experienced fans.

The fact that the game only takes a few hours is what makes the high score table practical. The first time I played, I went bankrupt. My second game got a score similar to yours. My third game went bankrupt. By now, I can make calculated risks about when to push my funding and when not to. My highest score since the Steam Release is over 78 million.

As for research, research points are always scarce. It’s a prioritization challenge. You can’t do everything, so what fits your strategy best?

Here’s something I was annoyed at when I first learned it. Maybe I can spare you a bad experience by revealing it. Tip: You stop getting points for cash on hand after half a billion, so ‘wasting’ money to turn it into other sources of points will increase your cash at that point. Running MMOs for too long is a good trick - if they’re good games, they’re very good at adding to your fan base, and will continue to do so after the point where they’ve stopped being profitable to run. Trading money for fans is favorable as long as you’re still over 500M in reserve cash when the game ends.

Well as is the game you can manually save then develop a game and get the reviews and then reload to try again.

So no it’s not a roguelike approach ie it’s not no reload and just one save, it’s a sort of weird intermediate system that seems anticipate for a future port on mobiles or small consoles. I agree with OP current save system isn’t good. I don’t want a limit, I have multiple tera for storing stuff and I’d like keep my old saves.
