Yes, but what is all the deleted posts about?
Because LineLiar told me I couldn’t post PCs
Unfortunately the spots for all the starting console/hardware have been took. You can still join as a software/games manufacturer though, just post your company name and logo.
Okay
Lockness Software
Done! Now you can wheel and deal and develop games on the on-topic thread!
Something to note is that video games in the late '80s and early '90s typically cost $45-$60, or more when they first came out (average was $50 for a new release). SNES games were typically $70-$80. The Playstation helped standardize compact discs, which are cheaper to manufacture than cartridges. Factor in inflation, and games have become significantly less expensive. @LineLiar and @apljee are underselling themselves on their games. I’m working on a post in the RP thread but I’m not sure if I should price my games realistically or cut them low for RP purposes?
I thought it was more so $40 for an average game and $50 for the higher demand games usually? Maybe could be $50/60…
Anyway, just go for realistic pricing, since the competitors of the era (and next) tried experimenting with various formats for the games in the form of peripherals and secondary formats (the Sega card for the sega master system, had lower memory but were cheaper). The realistic pricing might make experimenting with other formats in the RP more favourable.
How do you mean underselling my games? I don’t have any released yet.
I was referring to the price you listed with your launch title, Adventure Sands.
Oh lol… I totally forgot that. I will change it to 40$

Company History - Palm Studios
Palm Studios opens it’s doors in Stockholm Sweden, He studied programming at the university of Stockholm for 3 years after he went and worked for Scania a Truck manufacturer where he programmed industry computers and their top of the line Industry Robotics making sure they worked. However he had always had a creative side and when he saw some news about the consoles that was being created over at the other side of the Atlantic he decided to give it a try.
He started to work on his very first game before he created his Company, This was at the same time he still worked for Scania, however he managed to get enough funds to Start his own Company which he did.
The Company Headquarters where in the middle of Stockholm and was in an apartment he rented for the purpose of the company.
it was there where his real first Project started behind closed doors.
// Okey Console owner guys, you want a real pm with a letter or do how do you want game Porting negotiations to work?
Is there a liscence fee or something like that, and as you see my Studio is Located in Europe, Which by default my games will be sold in, Since i am a Garage level type studio for the moment.
And GM quick question… would it be allowed to Hire in Freelancers to help if one use a fraction of % like 0.2% per Freelancer or so?
And is there a way to eventually Buy out Studios? like their Shares? which i take it these % units is for more or less?
By the way, i do have YNAB a budget steam program. so i will take requests for those that want to be able to show yearly renevues and so on and or keep track about their RP economy.

As you can see the networth goes red, this can be fixed to Divide the Total Income by total Income / Month on market.
CORRECTION PLS
there you go, and sorry for that typo.
How should we price license fees? I tried to research this for realism and couldn’t find info on 80s consoles.
Hmm… I think it will pbe pretty expensive. Especially for the consoles at that time.
I couldn’t find any information on google. Should we just base fees on GDT or come up with some kind of standard for the RP thread?
just calculated that Smal Games in GDT is priced around 7$
o.o So me pricing a game of 35 means 5 times the money in Income and same money of expenses.
Any idea here?
The GM seem to be gone for now so suggestions?
License fees or base cost of games developing?
