Rename Engines?

Is it possible to rename engines? I just developed one for about 400k and forgot to change the default name.

Yeah, I’d really appreciate that ability. I’ve made that mistake several times - done it with games as well.

Ditto! I’ve also forgotten to name them.

Renaming games (before, say, the second or third stage) would not only be an awesome feature, but reflects real-life, where game and software companies may have an internal development name before releasing or publicizing the final game title!

It was kind of funny to have my first hit be titled ā€˜Game #6’

Was one of the reviews ā€œBetter than the nameā€?

Definitely my favourite review for ā€œGame #46ā€.

Also be awesome I think, if when doing a sequel it puts old game name in sequel name box.

I also wouldn’t mind being able to modify the game engine. I don’t want to spend 5 million just to add on a few features that I only just researched when I have an engine that’s already 2 million.

But really, in the whole game development sense, you generally have to create new engines, especially if, for example, you’re upgrading the graphics engine.

PS: You can try slimming down the engine. You don’t need all graphics levels, for example, and some of the options are mutually exclusive.

You can also make custom engines for specific purposes. A Casual Game engine probably doesn’t need advanced 3D graphics, full motion video, and quad surround sound.

It’s always a great bonus though to have those additional features. But I do understand your thinking.
