Really Bad News...!

I have really bad news today to tell you.

My CMPack and the graphics for @Aswin_Vos 's game is all gone from my computer no joke.
This may or may not affect you but this all means that I will be heavily delayed on releasing new versions of CMPack and completing @Aswin_Vos 's textures.

Hopefully I can remember everything to add back to my computer that has been deleted and this has all been to a due problem with a new CMOS battery been placed in my Lenovo Z580 laptop.

Ouch. Good luck with re-doing everything.

Oh man! :frowning: Good luck on re-doing the things

I’ve had the same thing happen to me, it’s pretty painful :frowning: I hope re-doing the stuff won’t be too annoying D:

Dropbox saves lifes

(GitHub too in this case)

@Darkly when people say they don’t have too much to get back its really a lot, I had files on files I had images for a game and then I had two other games in progress, then with lots of images for my YouTube channel and edits then images for a business and so on, it goes on for ages, I even had unique lua code about 7 scripts of code and they were about from 25 lines to 300 lines each. Next time I will keep them in the documents area and just have a shortcut to them.

This is a really bad news
Do laptops just break or desktop computers also break?

the External Hard Drive I was saving all the files to didn’t copy over all files and after I thought that everything was copied, then when I went and looked at the hard drive after I installed the operating system and formatted the drive several times over I then discovered that the desktop files were not copied over to the external drive then also my camtasia folder within the documents folder was not copied either which contained my intro for my YouTube videos.

Have you tried HDD recovery software, such as Recuva? Unless you did a full format on it or filled the drive up again, you should be able to recover at least some of the files.

I am currently doing a recovery from 1 pm this morning and its nearly done now, so hopefully it has all the files from my desktop and intro

Backups, people!
Might also be worth using services like dropbox, or Copy (which gives you 20GB free space with this link). Both links use a referral code.

Patrick I did backup the only problem was that it didn’t save the current files to the terabyte hard drive :frowning:

Someday I will create a service allowing people to save all of their files for a certain time period.
