Re-Release OLD famous games at certain dates?

Re-Release OLD famous games at certain dates so it matches release of IRL games? Profit?
Like releasing Starcraft at 1998 or Diablo II in 2000 recalculating that date to game date, so it matches the line up of when they got release irl time line. I know it might seem abstract, but from what I’ve tried it seems to work. Or maybe I’ve just been lucky producing the right game?

Hmm , this could be another event

if you release a game at the same Year as IRL epic games with same topic-genre , you should get less sales , because people will prefer that game (if your rating is lower)

Example=
Releasing SciFi-Action/Adventure at 1998 (same year as HalfLife) , will reduce your sell (since Halflife get 95% rating)
