I moved some random questions here from a topic i should have locked :smile:

Hi

i cant find any details about my employees best usage. For example i dev a new game, so i go to stage 1. My main character and my employee can now be used to deal with those tasks , Engine, Gameplay and Story. My main is just average at all 300/300/300/300 my employee has 403/36/268/179 , so he is focused on design stuff overall.

Engine= high technical understanding for better result ?
Gameplay= high design ?
Story = high design ?

dialogues = design ?
level = design ?
AI = tech stuff ?

World = design ?
graphics = design ?
sound = tech ?

So what stats are best for the different tasks ? I guess there are mixed tasks aswell, so what is better to have on those ? like 300 tech 200 design ? or 300 design and 200 tech ?

Maybe i dont looked right, but i dont found any information about what kind of employee is best for those different stages and tasks. I guess it is important to use a design emp for design tasks, and not for tech stuff were he/she has bad stats.

thanks

To be honoust, i always get te best results by keeping my staff balanced when it comes to stats.
The sliders and added features should determine wether your game gets more Tech or Design points.

Oh i just figured it out myself yesterday during the game.

Engine -> 180 design and 720 tech = 1 programmer in my team
A.I. -> 180 design and 720 tech = 1 programmer in my team

Graphic -> 450 design and 450 tech = mixed and only balanced ( this is 1 spec you really should skill) 1st
Level Design -> 340 design and 540 tech = mixed with tech focus ( after graphic 2nd important spec ) 2nd
World Design -> 540 design and 360 tech = mixed with design focus ( more in usage then sound ) 3rd
Sound -> 540 design and 360 tech = mixed with design focus ( not that much needed low priority) 4th

Gameplay -> 720 design and 180 tech ( important overall) 1st
Story / Quest -> 720 design and 180 tech ( overall not that important, except you are doing alot of mixed genres)
Dialogue -> 810 design and 90 tech

I guess a good team consists of 2 programmer specialists ( Engine and AI ), atleast 2 mixed guys ( Graphic and Level design) and a minimum of 1 who has the Gameplay specialisation.

2 progger
2 mixed
1 designer

If you are going for a lot of mixed genres a 2nd Designer with the spec “Story/quest” is important next to a mixed one with “World Design”

They don’t need those excact stats to be a specialist in any cases. Someone could have 800 Design and 750 Tech and still be a Gameplay specialist without messing up the balance.
The numbers just tell you which amount of Design and Tech the Staff needs to train that specific specialization.

Oh i used those stats as my personal hint to be sure that i put the right person to this slide bar. In early and mid game you dont have those specialists, well atleast i dont had them, but those numbers were pretty usefull when it comes to a slidebar like Engine for example. I can put there a employee with Design, but that wouldnt be usefull so i try better one with Tech to get a better result . ?

Puting the right Employee to his best place for the 3 slide bars, maybe helps me to get a better product out of it :smiley:

You can put your employees where ever you like to prevent overloading them with work.
As long as you stay consistent, meaning don’t swap them around every now and then you should be fine.

how long does it take to get the email with the update it taking forever to get it

You can use the same link from the email you got when you bought the game.
If you lost/forgot that email then you can contact Orders@fastspring.com

ALERT MAJOR BUG MAJOR BUG I REAPET MAJOR BUG i have played the game for a while before i updated on one save i was year 88 updated it There is no xbox or Ps3 HELP ME

First word of advice: Caps key should not be used that much.

And now for your question.
How old was your save game?
If the consoles you mentioned were not implented in the version of the game back then, they will not magically pop-up when loading that old save.

Events need to be triggered, by either a date or some other action.
Since Year 88 does not have anymore new releases, the only thing you can do is start a new game.
