R&D lab is clunky

I know most of the game is clunky, but when you have nothing to research it won’t let you select anything and it just looks like the actual R&D screen has bugged out. I thought it was a bug until I unlocked 3D Graphics to research. Maybe when there is nothing to research, have it appear as “nothing”.

Also why does it just keep taking money from you? Why not revert to 0 upon completion of topic?

I really don’t understand what you mean. What screen has ‘bugged out’? can you show me a screenshot?

The reason why we don’t revert to 0 when you finish a research in the lab is that the lab gives you research points when you don’t have a project running. It’s also a choice about consistency;the game will not adjust budgets for you.
