Is the time spent during each phase of development fixed, or is it dependent upon your employee’s performance?
I’m trying to time things so that a Large game is in the third phase of development when G3 rolls around (M6 W1). How far ahead should I start development in order to nail that sweet spot?
Development time determines on your game size. When you choose a small game, development goes super fast. When you choose a medium game, development will go a bit slower than a small game, because medium games have more advanced coding than small games.
When you choose a large game, development will go slower, since coding is way more advanced, and the game needs a lot of coding to work correctly on the console.
When you choose a AAA game, development will go super slow, and it takes more than 2 months to code for the console.
That’s what I figured was the case. I’m just wondering what the actual time frame is for a Large game. One month per Stage? Two months? As I said I’m trying to hit a sweet spot where the game reaches it third stage of development when G3 hits, so I can maximize my Hype.
