[QUE] What do you think of this mod concept?

So I’m working on the mod that has the old consoles, like atari consoles. And I finished the 2600 texture and I think it is very good!
What do you think? Took me about an hour to make this. Does it have the gamedev tycoonish style?

Size is 250x144p

The mod concept itself is that you instead of starting in the 80s you start in the 70s where gaming starts.

Just some information about the existing images:

  • All platform images in the game are designed at a size of 360x360 but shown by default at 200x200.
  • We use a isometric perspective for the images.
  • To fit with the existing game platforms should be parodies, not recreations.

Yes but are the 360 ones ever used in the game?
But there could be a mod that tries to recreate the actual platforms and their names too.

theoretically, 360x360 is used when running the Windows 8 version on a high-DPI display (eg. retina like display). In any case the images are square format so any other platforms should be at least 200x200.

And parodies shouldn’t clearly reproduced any trademark element, AIUI, so no Atari logos even if the word ‘Atari’ doesn’t appear.

I’d call it Joseki, personally, though I suspect the relationship between that and Atari is a bit of an obscure reference for most people.

What about Watari it’s just the atari logo but 180º turned

I missed the 2600 in GDT and wanted to do something similar.

But I thinking of Commodore Amiga Series (Something I really miss in the game), the CD32, CDTV
AtariST, Macintosh, Amstrad/Schneider CPC in the early days. The great war between Amiga, Atari and the PC.

And who won? Nintendo with the Famicom/NES… :wink:

For the Atari name = I would use an other word from the “Go” game, like the initiators of Atari did. (Atari is a special situation in the Asian game “Go”)

It looks more realistic-ish but still has that GDT feel
