I am utterly shocked by the fact that puzzle games is not a topic. Witht the fact that both Daniel and Patrick Klug love Portal 1+2… I don’t think Portal 1+2 is a pirate game or a hacking game… (Sorry if my english is bad, im from Norway and i am only 13 years old)
Since when do 13 year olds use the term “utterley shocked” =/
When people realise that not all kids are spamming idiots. It seems kids are so horribly hated on the internet, even though not all of them are as bad as people think they are…
Always allow for the cultural implications on children as well as adults.
Its a valid point though, I doubt Patrick and Daniel forgot as they really do puzzle games, patrick was just telling me how awesome The Swapper is.
I always chalked it up to puzzle games being absorbed by the other genres. It’s the same reason you don’t see “Platformer” as it is likely included in ‘action’ or ‘adventure’ depending how fast paced it was. (Sonic = Action, Banjo/Kazooie = Adventure)
In that essence, puzzle-heavy games would fit well in either adventure or casual.
That being said, there is a good point to be made to include a “Puzzle” topic as there are games out there who’s primary focus is puzzles. I would argue for the topic’s good combos to be Puzzle + Adventure (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Franchise/ProfessorLayton?from=Main.ProfessorLayton), Puzzle + Action (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/Portal), Puzzle + Casual (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/Bejeweled?from=Main.Bejeweled) and possibly Puzzle + RPG (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/PuzzleQuest?from=Main.PuzzleQuest)
I have no idea… Maybe just tryin’ to make people know that i are not from any kind of shithole, but NORWAY, THE PLACE WHERE VIKINGS USED TO ROAM! and maybe the fact that i actually go to school… (yes, i know holy ****)
