Ever wanted to make a series of games very successful? Here’s the tip for you!
Every time you make a fresh new engine, the first game you make with it mostly has a very big advantage because of the new tech you put into the engine. Especially if you talk about sequels. I recommend making a new game of your favorite franchise every time you create a new engine, so that it gets some extra points. Note: You obviousily need to still adapt to the right sliders, of course.

Well i already know this, so i’m sure for the people that don’t know this, it could be very useful!
Sequels already get a game quality bonus.
Making a sequel with your freshly made engine might just overdo it.
That’s the purpose, really.
I don’t see the purpose of overdoing your best game score.
Problem is that your next game, almost has to be a sequel as well.
Otherwise you will have to train a lot more then normal or add more new features to that game to match the new best score.
That’s kind of how I roll normally anyway. I start off and see what franchises I will keep and then I will mainly create franchises.
I’m trying to get that 11/10 score, so overdoing it is definitely what I need to do.
Yep… Thinking about it, I have never done the following experiment.
Imagine that you make a few REEEAAALY bad games, then make a new engine, then make a game with the good sliders. Will this top the over the top overdoing?
My highest score to-date involved a playthrough where bad games were interspersed with brilliant games in order to get lots of top hits. You just have to be careful with the bad games - you want them so bad they score 5’s, not so bad they score 2’s. You don’t want to lose fans.
All your games should have good sliders
Pay attention.
I said that I hadn’t tried out making a good game sequel with a new engine AFTER a few bad games on purpose.
