I don’t know what good a petition will do in this case. The pirates know that what they are doing is wrong, and generally don’t care. They also know that a large number of people don’t like them pirating games, and yet they continue to do so. A petition will not change their minds, since there is no central organisation to take the petition to.
Thanks guys for the feed back but if you have alot of pettitions signed its like a wall and it might scare the from doing it if there is so many people signed it and they might think they will get caught
A wall of sand. Pirates have nothing to fear from some anonymous users when they themselves are anonymous. Unless you can identify all the pirates they will just laugh at this. And I rather not look like an idiot in this case
There are 2 guys working there buts of developing this game and it costs less than your lunch yet 90% of people have pirated the game so i want this to stop and give the developers the respect and support they need.
is far from being true by now.
Greenheartgames released this statistic after A DAY the game came out AND they released the “pirated” version BEFORE anyone could buy the real deal… so this statistic is nothing more than a pointing finger and a brilliant publicity stunt, but the fact they don’t show selling graphs from day 2 and 3 tells me, that they sold more than enough copys of their game and just don’t want to admit that.
I am happy for them, and there is absolutely no reason for this petition.
This is simply not true. As I’ve said in my original story, we uploaded the torrent minutes after releasing the real game. The reason the torrent itself was created a day earlier was simply so we can seed it among a few friends first.
Also, the argument that we artificially increased our exposure by releasing the torrent ourselves has only little hold. Around half an hour after we released our fake torrent, someone already uploaded another torrent for the real game. The numbers would likely have been the same.
My problem with your so called statistic is, that it is none.
It would be so awesome to see how the distribution of the game develops over time, how many people buy it, how many are still falling for the fake and how many pirates leech the real game… even how many play the demo.
There should be ingame-like graphs on your website, so ambitious players can compare how the game relates to the real world and god knows whatever cool things could have been done with what you have started… but all you did was starting to complain the second you started selling your very first game. After that… nothing.
So, when I assume that you did not release any more data, because the game sells like crazy and because you are afraid to admit that the point you were trying to prove was wrong… that’s your fault, because with no data to back something up, assumptions is all that can be made.
I am no hater… just a bit disappointed.
Just tell me now, a few weeks after release: Are you satisfied with the financial outcome so far, or not?
