People pirating the game

I’ve heard about this game from another indie devs company called Subsoap, who made Faerie Solitaire.

I asked him if the game was good, he said “just try the demo”, so i looked at it and it was looking similar to GDS(No debate on this BTW).

So i bought it directly without trying it.

Really enjoying it so far, just received my mail in game that Green heart games are happy that i purchased the game.

I hope it’s gonna get greenlight, i’m so effing happy to see another dev using the “troll the pirates” marketing method.
I really like the Serious Sam 3 one too.

This clearly provide hilarious reactions of people on various website.

“Pathetic. Take this green skull, uploading developer files. F off Ghost. I bet you were paid to put this up, suck my C you fake F wannabe pirates, bending over for a developer.”.

This made my day, i just hope they realize when you are in game an d people keep pirating it is showing how bad piracy it is. Seeing at their reaction like the comment i quoted, imagine how devs feel WITH the money and life ruining it can lead to too.

The game is f cheap and i’m glad i bought it. I hope it’s gonna get greenlight soon. The game look’s great too, different art style than GDS too.

Kudos to you Green heart gaming, and i’m glad Subsoap devs talked to me about this game, not a surprise either as they come from the same country than yours i think.

Another great indie devs that i <3

A Japanese Erogame (I believe it was called “Brave Soul” or so) had an hilarious, albeit legally questionable way to combat the black copies. They added a survey at the end of the installation that asked them about personal stuff. Once the window was closed, the data was send directly to the makers who published all entries on their webpage. If you choose to not fill out the questionnaire or simply made fake entries, this didn’t always work, as once the page closed it took a screenshot of your desktop and uploaded it along with your answers.

Earthbound on the other hand was outright CRUEL to you. It made the game significantly harder, and even if you managed to go through that, right before the final boss the game will crash and delete your savegame. On the otherside, when the version detected that it was pirated, it showed you a small text before you get to the main menu, stating that Piracy is a crime. So you have been warned.

I still say that the Leisure Suit Larry games had a good “piracy” method…same with most other Sierra Online games. lol

Could you expand on that? What did they do to get back at pirates?

Sold their ships and put their wooden legs on the fire… lol
