PC vs Amiga is this even considered?

I havnt tried your game yet, but I will ask this anyway…

the AMIGa computer was released and built for gaming before the MS/Intel design even thought of a graphical interface…by about 5 years.
It was multi tasking
Stereo sound(8bit)
4096 colors…
and many advances before MS even tried to make something better…
It even worked on a TV or monitor…

The AMIGa nad MAc were the PUSH MS needed to do something better then DOS, and windows 1 to 3.5…
I dont know if you will agree, but the amiga was KING until LATE 90’s. when the Pentium 2, finally had enough speed to beat a Modified Amiga 2000…

Ok… So…???

So? He’s saying that he feels it is unrealistic to release the PC as the first console to develop a game on as the Amiga was the first console out.

Woah woah woah.
I’m saying what is HE saying. Is he wanting this to be featured in the game or what?

wHAT iM SAYING IS THAT THE GAMES CREATED ON intel pc, COMPARED TO THE amiga IN 1985 lacked…
NO stereo audio…
NO COLOR…
NO multi tasking…

I cant post Pics, but look up a few from 1985…Amiga…
ANd games for amiga…
PC was limited to 256 color art and 16 color display…

If you REALLY want to compare games on the Intel/MS system…that went BEEP/BOP/BOOP to Full stereo audio… AND 16 colors in a game… GO play PONG…

So… Are you suggesting this to be in the game or this is just a discussion?
If it’s a discussion… Yeah, Amiga is totally better than what the pcs are in the 70s.

I came here to ask about this too.
The Amiga, was one of the greatest computers to ever be made. Alot of its 27 Year old Tech is still being used today in all areas of Graphics.

PC isn’t a console.
Niether was the C64 or Amiga.

Shame the Speccy got missed out too, :(.

Im just saying that the PC and consoles were different…and advancement was different.
And the PC…Amiga was abit superior to what MOST of the PC market had.
If you want a history of HOW intel/MS swamped the market…I could add to this.
But if you dont already know, then this program would seem a little lacking…
The Amiga PUSHED MS to add graphics. at least TRY.
MS started giving away hardware… Saturating the market to their side. they did this many times…
At that TIME till the 1990’s, MOSt computers were for BUSINESS…there were FEW that did gaming very well.
The Amiga was doing everything the Intell/MS system was doing, as well as games…

I work for one of the last remaining Amiga Harware / Software dealers, ;).
So know the history all to well, Atari got left out too.

Be nice if this game started late 70’s as thats when the console wars really started before the big market crash of the early 80’s.
God the Atari 2600 is the earliest I remember. I know there were others like the Dragon 32 etc etc. They were just before my time.

You never forget your first!

Sadly I missed out on the C64, ended up with Speccy.
Have to say, even though I never owned a C64, I love the sid chip and the music it produces.
I cant help but listen to SID music alot.

Fol,
dont even MENTION the PC wars…they were MEAN…and left us with CRAP…

Then there were the CONSOLE wars…at one point there were 8+ consoles on the market…ranging in prices for $100-1000…
Jaguar, Neo-geo, and Many others…
Im 54 and saw most of this, and couldnt afford MOST of it…

I loved the MEd format on the amiga…It recorded the AUDIO samples then made midi music USING those sample. and you could use ANYTHING as a sample.

I do not know when this simulation is supposed to start in time frame.
but if you have been threw it…The Com64/Amiga would be a consideration to start.

Im wondering if anyone here remembers the Lawsuit with the Atari2600…
Atari was being very SLOW on releasing games so ANOTHEr company decided to do the job…Atari didnt like it. and SUED the other company…and LOST.
the other company…Activision.

Atari doesnt MAKE games anymore…they BUY them from the makers(if they like them) then Distribute them…nothing more.

MANY of the major Names went to Distribution…they OWn many smaller groups. and the Main company DISTRIBUTES the software with Their name on it.

Distribution WAS the key to making money. its the CONTACTS they have made.
but can you GUESS who is breaking this idea?
STEAM. any small group can release software into the market.
Yes, Iv watched this happen from the beginning…

Well, my parents have the Commodore 128… It was too huge for me.

Perchance,
have you looked up the last updates to hardware for the C64/128??
They were done about 5-6 years ago…

Well i think they bought it in 1990 or something.

Last update to the C64 was 6 megs ram, 30mhz processor and Multitasking…

Would it just easier to add the Atari 7800 rather than extending the timeframe?
