Ok… not as angry as i sound… maby a little. Bought the game via Steam, yes yes i know, i´am a good lad, but i actuly regret it… go figure. Sitting the last houer trying to mod my research points with no luck and then i found out you guys and girls patched it??? Why?? Where can i dovnload a version were this works? do i REALY have to find a older pirate version?.. not the one you released tho haha.

I am in like year 25, making only 8,5 to 9,75 games from the start, have holes in my pocket so money will fall out to the homeless ppl outside Holstein Games. But the research points my dear and craved research points, were are they? I have like a perfect run now and its horrible, i am never going to be able to spesialise my employees beside design end tech, never gonna make a MMO, never gonna finish my own console… why? and now i cant mod it to ever find out… i havent even research the joystick “crying out loud”. And dont say i dont generate RS points cause i do, i do have lab with Tech and Des, i am currently working on my own console… but i dont think it will be ready before the game ends. I am still on 2D aswell, i am wondering how i even manage to sell them 25 years later, do they make 2d games now?

A word about modding - Yes i read it, and i am WAY to green to even know what a source code is… i just want more RS points, and after reading on net and so on, it seems like everyone else wants it to. Make a smal program so you can edit money, rs pints and fans for those who want to. Like FMRTE for Fotball Manager, or open it for modding like it was for like 5-6 monts ago… or you can do the following…

Make a patch that Increase the RS points (*) 3 times fold of what it is today, 100 today = 300. Ya and you can also ad fans in * 1.5

Remember an old game called Detroit? was made in like 18war or something, great game and much simelar to GDT… only with cars. You can find it online free of charge, its out dated, thats why its free, its not a pirate version… i promise.

Where were we? Ya Game Dev Tycoon 2 - The Final Frontier. Don´t laugh, it sold like 7,5 million copys!!!

  • See your competitors, company name, games they give out genere and so on. See witch games you battle against, Sales charts - Its all abouth stats

  • End of year awards for best selling gam total, for each genere and for the editors choise

  • Start the game in 1958 when Tennis for Two were made and make it last until 2050 ATLEAST!!! Max out your Gamplay bar boys… and girls… btw i need a donation :wink: and ya, use years like 05/9/1969 and not year 11 week 3 and so on.

  • More “tables” employees, 1 table can make small games, another can make medium games and so on, making 50 games in the current lifespam is WAY to little.

  • Ability to put money in specific areas beside the skill of your employee. Stage 1 you have Engine, Gamplay and Story/Quest. The bars should be like they are today but that i could also put some more money int them. Like an ekstra million in the story/quest part so it would even be better, offcourse this will do that the game will take longer to develop… but hey… GTA wasent made in a month.

  • More spesified engines, witch is used on different games. The engine for Quake is different from Monkey Island, Engine/genere, developing many different engines for the generes.

  • More stages and topics in the development part. Stage 1 - Select engine. This is offcourse for mye Shut em up game and i use the Engine Doomster 3000 engine that focus on , well shooting, speed, 3D, cant handle to big maps, exelent sound and so on. Stage 2 - Game story, quests, dialoges, Stage 3 - Gameplay, world design, grapichs. Stage 4 - Ai, sound, voice. Stage 5 - Cartoon, Realism, Video/movie

  • More type on employee f.ex, writer, engenering type

  • More reviews, like 10 so you get more desimals and more diffrent ratings. Games get score of 0 - 100 based on all the stages. Game story, quests, dialoges, Gameplay, world design, grapichs, Ai, sound, voice, Cartoon, Realism, Video/movie. Thats 12 “genere” witch get the rating from 0 to 100 = rating from 1 review, and offcourse 10 reviews.

  • Let the research department research, and not so i have to research it again with a employee… what the h*** is that abouth anyway???

  • Try followin the liniar development that has been, why discover the joystick in 2035? Why discover the joystick at all?? Ninvendo had their own, they all have. I´ll try that again, online game… why research that in 2035?? they started with it mid 90s, if you havent manage to reserch online gaming when the internet came out it should be avalible after a while anyway, cost less research points as the years goes until u have it for free. Getting it sooner gives a bost on xp for online gaming, leading to more expertice for the oppcomming mmo, cause you make games for online before the opponents, or well you have done it for many years. a bit late making you first game able to play online in 2025 then make an MMO in 2026.

  • Be able to buy tech if you dont have money and NO rs points… hint hint. Able to buy other companies and take over there tech and games. Be aware, if you make Gam Dev Tycoon 2 EA probebly buys you.

  • The time it takes to make games… Tennis for Two tok abouth 4 seconds to make when the dude fell over his keyboard and… BAAAM the game was made, GTA 5 took a while longer, more cash you put in a game the longer it takes. That said you should be able to make high selling games Without spending years, look at Word Feud, Tetris and so on. Supply and demand, big differens on online game, MMO and Game Dev Tycoon… witch is a tremendus hit and a superb game… i play it offcource, enough said.

  • Making Yearly sequels… Like EA does with sports games, FIFA, NFL, NHL, this said it shouldet work on adventure games and sutch, but team sports, Fotball, American Fotball, Icehocky, Basketball, synchronised swimming and that sport were someone has a stick trying to hit something or someone… i´am not sure…

  • More stuff to spend money on. Bonus for emloyees, redecoration when u want, hardware update… importante to have state of the art when making games, buy patents and so on.

  • Hire ME as a creative consultant, free of charge offcourse. Current Level 0, Stats: Design 0, Technology 0, Speed 499, research 0, creativitet 999 and fantasy 999.

Well i have much more but ill write more later… all i want no is to get the %¤/&#¤/(%¤%&(¤%!"## research points, fix it or i will get someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone to hack the game!!!

The game is ok, not to hard not to easy, just kinda wanne go that exstra mile to see were it brings me.

Well, anyways, played the game a bit more, developed my own console MMO and so on, large games much RP, but a bit to late. Other toughts on the game:

  • My console… kinda strange developing a console without having a clue what it is for… did i make it for mature… young or everyone… what game works on this thing… crap, were is the engeenere who build it… ohh wait thats me. Developing a console you should be able to choose how you make it, what genere and audience you wanted it for. You should be able to see the harware in the other copetitors consoles, make yours more powerfull or cheaper, maby do some exstra with the “joystick” like WII to make it better/more interesting than your apponents… or worse… or to expensive. Set your own prices on the console, go with a loss to sell more or earn money. Make a hanheld console like GS, gameboy, with the same prinsipels. Other competitors should make games for your console. History for your console, reviews for your console, report on your console.

  • MMO games… 34 months i made it with a sequal. Game score 9.25 and sequal 8,75… How long has World of Warcraft been on? The expansion pack dident last for long, way to short before it got to exspensive to run. Like WOW has been on since 2004, almost 10 years with 4 expansion pack… way to short in GDT. Another ting is the way you make the EP in GDT, it takes aslong as the game itself. The expansion pack sould be: You use the same engine as in the game, stage 1, engine should be gone, stage 2 Ai should be gone, stage 3 grapichs should be gone. Should take half the time to make a DLC. To more things abouth the MMO

  1. There should be a 3 part econemie on MMO. 1. sales, 2. subscribers, 3. Cost

  2. The cost dont rise like it does on GDT, hardware gets cheeper, new tech making it easyer to maintain, saleries goes up so its more or less the same as there are, it shouldent rise.More like you get less subscribers after time and even less if you dont make EP. WOW still have over seven million subscribers as of July 2013. So if you make a 9, 9+ game… let it last. Again this goes on genere, rpg long life, Battlefield not the same life spam, and dont have the same amount of sales on DLC´s.

  • DLC for normal games, if you make a hit, make a dlc the next year :grin:

  • Making games for phones and tablets should be gone. Your making apps/games for the OS, Grapple OS, Microsnacks OS and Dandruff OS.

  • Take away the real pictures of the consoles, make it cartoonish like the game.

  • More options for your console how it should look like

  • Company XP on genere, if you have made 450 action games… your good at it, genere xp ads bonus to your game.

  • Have researchers and let them research… not your game makers.

  • Did i mention have a lot more staff? writes ect? Be able to develop atleast 10 games a year

  • Competitors… like 9… so 10 game companies * 10 games = 100 titels a year. Offcoure this comes later int the game year 2000ish, when you have table for: f.ex

Apps/games - 2 employee - 4 apps pr year
Word Feud
and all other app/game stuff

Small games - 2 employee - 3 games pr year
Minecraft
type game

Medium games - 3 employee - 2 games pr year
Fifa
type game

Large games - 5 employee - 1 games pr year
Battlefield
type game, DLC half a year

AAA games -6 employee - 1 games pr 2nd year (DLC 1 year)
WOW/GDT
Lifespam 10 years 4 DLC´s made. (4 Years on DLC and 2 on development a total of 6 years spent on the game, raw time no exstra cash spent) Inbetween here you should be able to start making your next game for your next big thing and pause it inbetween the DLC´s you make.

Offcource the more money you spend on your game the longer it takes to develop aswell as normal rate. Point is you could make a hit doing apps aswell as a AAA game.

  • Price your own games

  • Games should be sold for a year

  • Realistic research… 3d graphics YES, Linear story ok… Better dialogues WHAAAAAT, i say WHAAAAAT how can you research that??? Your “writer” should determen your outcome of dialogue in a game.

  • Be able to see your competitors lvl in research, like in the game “Detroit”. If Betshade Games is comming out with a Large action game this year and have research the: 3D graphics V3, AI V4, and Stereo sound, and My company have research the: 3D graphics V2, AI V2, and mono sound… well they would crush me in rating if their developers dont s***. So what to do? i need to make a action game, cause my company needs to improve its skill on making action games (company xp on action). I develop a medium action game, and dont give it out on the same platform so we dont fight on the same lvl and puth in some exstra cash so it seems a bit better. Betshade gets a 9.13 on their rating, price 60$, sale 13 million, I get 8.03 rating, 30$ and sell 10 million copys, Reason? My game is cheeaper, it isent bad and i gave it out on other platforms than Betshade did. Everyone dont have 1 of each console, so my game was good action game for medium size.

Comparing the games… you should be compared first of all towards you competitors, list follows

  1. Competitors last game in same genere/size
  2. Your last game in same genere/size
  3. Competitors last game in same genere no matter size
  4. Your last game in same genere no matter size

Explenation:

If we use a factor for each size og the game. I made a medium game, so my factor is 1, if a made a AAA game my factor would be the same 1

Medium game

0.80 Apps/games
0.90 Small games
1.00 Medium games
1.10 Large games
1.20 AAA Games

Lets say 3 companys made a action game that year and i made the medium one, another made a large and the last made a AAA game. We all made perfect games compared to the list a 10 or a 100, but cause the ther large game and AAA game came out the same year i would get a penalty… My medium game would get a score of 80, the large game would get a score of 90 and the AAA game would get the score of 100, this is offcourse if we all made a perfect score on the other criterias. Lets say my medium game got a score of 100, the large game 75 and the AAA game 80 the list would be like this.

Medium game -20% compared to AAA game
Large game - 10% compared to the AAA game

Medium game: Score 80 (100 - 20% = 80)
Large game: Score 67,5 (75 - 10% = 67,5)
AAA game: Score 80 (80 - 0% = 80)

But this is just an example :grin:
