Ok, so I need a new CPU cause I want to play GTA V, and i have a budget of about $100. Any suggestions?
What motherboard do you have?
Pretty sure its AM3
AM3 Confirmed
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005AKK02S/?tag=pcpapi-20 this is what i could pull up. Unfortunately its only a dual core processor, definantly will not hold up.
I’m afraid you need a motherboard upgrade.
It still looks better than my i5 4210M.
I don’t think that the cores are such of an issue, as long as they are powerful.
Also I’ve found this:
Very good cpu as for 100$.
And this:
Cheap one
And this:
I don’t know how much cores does it have, and the L2 cache is just big.
This is where I’ve searched:
This is my pc stuff
Blame my Intel Family Graphics card for the 5.1 , otherwise it’be a 5.7.
Those wont work, those are AM3+. AM3s can work on AM3+ motherboards but not opposite way around.
I thought that that means that that that wil work with AM3 and up
Turns out that my motherboard actually does support AM3+, and I ended up getting this one http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=19-113-376&utm_medium=BehEmail&nm_mc=EMCPB-042015&cm_mmc=EMCPB-042015--PB--itemnumber-_-19-113-376&et_cid=17237&et_rid=3275348
That’s the exact processor I have. It gets the job done.
What motherboard do you have? Not all AM3(+) boards will work like they should. A low end AM3+ will throttle the 8320, and make it super slow.
What’d I’d do is return that CPU, sale your motherboard and cpu, and buy a z97 board, and a Pentium K (faster than your athlon by a long shot), and it’d give you an upgrade path. There is a chance you could even get in a i5, or an i3 into it.
Yes, yes he is @kingofblox360
