I think that greenheart games should make a game called music dev tycoon. It would have pretty much the same things as game dev tycoon but you would rename all the stuff. Like when the says
sound in stead it will say bass or it will say rap. So i think greengames should make a game like this.
First off, it’s Greenheart Games, not greengames.
Second, why do people keep suggesting dev tycoon stuff for GHG to make? lol
and Lastly, uh… I ain’t got one…
PS : Guys, this may be my last visit prior to this month, i got exams to worry about and stuff.
Having things pretty much the same and just rename it, does not sound like a very original idea
A great way to cash in on niche markets but yes would be very dull to play if you have already played one version.
@caleb12 Thanks for sharing your idea tho
I could come up with a lot of niche idea’s, but i won’t share them here maybe if Pat or Dan would approach me to share, perhaps then i will

ha ha VERY funny but don’t think your reply will get any reviews
You just did
I accidentally wrote it here
Those things happen sometimes.
Yea
Instead of All Games giving reviews, it will be All Music that will ruin the fun.
Dev tycoon music and other dev tycoon could be a mod or a large mod if your going to change visual but I gruess if the dev provided an editor to edit the sliders and names and visuals than I guess it would be a way to do it, plus it opens alot do doors
Maybe music could play a bigger part in game development in the Game Dev Tycoon. Like hiring musicians and such.
Hey guys, so being a music producer myself I have a few ideas for how you could create a Music Dev Tycoon. Let me take you through my idea:
The game starts in 2000 and goes until 2020, you see the rise of Kazaa, MySpace, iTunes, Facebook, Spotify, and other platforms. These function just like consoles: you choose where to put your music and when.
You start the game by choosing if you’re a band or a DJ and each has different unlockable skills in their own trees that you can research when you get points from making music or playing shows.
Some of a band’s unlockable skills include:
- Finger picking
- Solos
- Lyrics I, II, III, and IV
Some of a DJ’s unlockable skills include:
- Panning
- Compression I, II, III, IV, and V
- Better kick drums
But unlike the first game, this one also includes live performances. The second screen away from your garage/basement is a stage. You get gigs much like publishing deals in Game Dev and you choose the setlist (each track has stats). How well the energy, progression, and perks you unlocked work with the vibe of the gig determines how well you do (which boosts your followers).
From these gigs, you earn points that you can spend in your tree, either on the performance side or the creation side. There are pros and cons to both but each can advance your career (like you could be a great performer but terrible writer or vice versa).
You can also buy new gear to enhance your gigs, like new DJ gear, instruments, lights, or speakers. These will improve your overall performance and help grow your fame faster because people will enjoy your shows more.
Now the actual music: you can choose to create singles or albums in your studio space when you’re not performing.
Singles are created one at a time much like games in Game Dev. You can choose the genre (rap, house, progressive rock, metal, etc.) and then you can adjust the sliders on metrics like speed and aggression that will change the overall qualities of the song, which are listed for you to see.
The four qualities of a song are:
Danceability: (Bonus to live shows’ success rate)
Emotion: (Small bonus to sales and live shows)
Novelty: (Bonus to sales quantity)
Catchiness: (Bonus to fame generated from sales/plays)
For example, two songs of mine in the game would look like this:
Signature
Danceability: 6
Emotion: 5
Novelty: 8
Catchiness: 8
Phantoms
Danceability: 8
Emotion: 4
Novelty: 5
Catchiness: 7
And these above characteristics would be modified in real time by the player adjusting dimensions of their music like speed, repetitiveness, use of vocals, etc. This way each track would be more unique, giving you a diverse catalog of music to sell and to use live.
Now for albums: albums work essentially the same way, except instead of making 7-15 singles, you change the characteristics of the entire album like it were a single. You can design the album as a whole with the sliders or down to each individual track, which will use a weighted average system to determine the progression and the “feel” of the overall album. This way you’ll have a lot of options when you perform live.
As far as fame and money, they function essentially the same as they did in the first game, and as you level up and climb the ranks you can unlock new band members or features like adding vocalists if you’re a DJ. This will allow you to enhance your gigs (and even throw your own) and unlock new content as you progress through the game.
