Moving to Ubuntu?

In a few months, I’m think am getting the new Mac Pro (please don’t mind). It will have OSX so some games will not be supported, so my only choice is to get Ubuntu. But to be honest it looks ugly (sorry Ubuntu). So I want some skin to make it look awsome. For example I want it to look like Zorin OS 8 (Linux based OS)

If your saying “Why not get Zorin OS? It’s Linux based!” Well it requires a CD and I’ve never ever done something from CD. “Ubuntu requires a CD too” well I’ve installed it on my computer without a CD (please don’t ask how)

Steam OS is beta (I think) And I want a flawless OS

Any help, big or small is appreciated

Hmm I googled around a little and it seems like you can use an USB stick to install Zorin OS just like you can with any(?) other Linux distro. Just download the Zorin OS .iso file and use Unetbootin to put the installer on the USB. I have never done this (I’ve used Linux like, once in my life before) but it doesn’t look too complicated.

Thanks!
I wanted to use a USB to boot but I failed to do that!

I do have to ask, why a Mac pro? You can easily build one for a lot cheaper, and a lot faster. I mean, a lotttt faster.

and a lotttt cheaper then paying $2000 for a laptop, when you could pay 1/2 of that for a better, faster gaming pc.

I believe hes getting the new Mac Pro, that trash can thing? (Joke, but it looks like one) Lol. I can get you a build, that’ll mimic this one in performance, but be cheaper than a 3k or a 4k price tag.

I’m getting a Mac Pro for the fast ssd, size, reliability, and Virus protection (OS)

I care only ABIT about performance, because I play games that require low power use
I know it has so little power for the money but I always care about the others

you could get a razer blade for that price as well!

You can get ssds in a custom build you know? And the virus protection idea is pointless, as you’re going to install ubuntu…and you can get a small pc. The mac is extremely overpriced.

Also, you can’t use a boot-able USB on any Mac (not the software, the hardware). It has to be on a PC. (something with the hardware in a mac?). So you’re best bet would be to build one, and then use a USB stick to install Zorin. Btw, Zorin 8 looks really pretty, I may use it on my next build.

I know what macs are good for in gaming.

Mousepads.

Just kidding, follow your dreams, @Gamingthrou.

Now that I looked into Zorin, I may buy the CD myself :b and it may be smart to do that, as SteamOS is Linux based, so that means a bunch of games are going to convert over to Linux as well…

Edit: I just now got what you meant @apljee… Lol
