Money and Research Points Cap?

I was wondering If their is caps in the game for money or research points, as my money recently exceeded 1000Million, and My research points are at about 3.5k as I have nothing much more to research. Will I hit a Cap?

There may be one, but I have ~4 Quintillion in cash, and ~11,000 RP and counting. I’ll let you know if I get stopped at some point, but you’re good for a long time.

At this cash and Reasearch points most likely around Year 150 or so … :smiley:

88 according to my screenshot, the game which made me the money was released in 61, and is still running.

Err … wait a second.
You have a game up and running for 27 years now?
And plus still making profit?

Did you release an AAA Young RPG/Adventure MMO with 10/10/10/10 Rating and are pumping out 8/9/10 rated expansions? :smile:

The best game I had so far was an MMO running for 3 years. But Server Maintenance gets worse from week to week, in the end I had weekly losses of 500k while selling ~1 Million copies :hear_no_evil:

You get a new injection of profitability with every expansion you put out, though. Typically it will be 2 or 3 times the maintenance-costs at time of release, and your total-profit is based solely on the quality of the original game. So pump out a super-MMO then support it forever and you’ll never run out of money. Then, once you’re old and ready to retire, fire everyone, close all projects, and sit in your office alone, getting $300K a month for GRID, and paying $57K for rent.

So you basically have done the ‘World of Warcraft’ style, huh?

That piece of … still generates income for blizzard after nearly 10 years now.

Pretty much, the maintenance cost is exponential, and profits keep way above it with a regular release of expansions and conventions.

World of Warcraft does have it’s cons but it’s main pro is community and ease of game play, stuff works a it should (sorry couldn’t sit here and not fight on wows side). But yeah from membership alone they make in excess of £100 Million (10M players paying £10 a month (roughly)) then theirs money from expansions, The card game, Diablo III, Starcraft II and merchandise bought.
