Let's Play Game Dev Tycoon with J2!

Hey all,

J2JonJeremy here! I just wanted to post this here on the Greenheart Games forum. I think that the developers have done a fantastic job with the game. Just got it this morning and I’ve found it extremely addicting.

I record Let’s Plays on Youtube and have just posted up the first video in what will be a series on Game Dev Tycoon. I’ve also included links for the viewers to purchase the game from the website. I hope that the people who watch the videos and want the game pick it up through the link than other “nefarious” means.

Shouldn’t you get permission first? You may be violating the licensing terms by performing a public showcast.

If the dev says take it down then I will but I’ve always considering videos like Let’s Play advertisements. Watch the video, enjoy the content, buy the game. It’s a simple formula, one that I’ve been told repeatedly by those watching that they’ve purchased games just because they were shown how much fun they were through video rather than what they “heard through the grapevine.”

I saw the video and bought the game right away. Very fun!
I have followed J2JonJeremy for a while now and what he does is great :smile:
Anf I’m glad he showcased this game otherwise I would never have heard about it.

I don’t think anyone has ever requested a lets play be taken down. It’s good publicity.

I saw your lets play and bought the game after watching it. The game looks so much fun. Though my boss might not be as happy about me buying the game. :smiley:

I never see devs/mods complain about let’s playing their own games.

I didn’t even know about this game until seeing J2’s Let’s Play which led me to the website. LP’s are obviously a good source of free advertisement.
