Items in custom engine not showing up

First off, I recently bought the game and I simply love it! Best simulation game I have played so far…

Secondly, I was playing and after I upgraded the 2nd office and got myself the R&D Department I went into bankruptcy, so I restarted the level. Now as I’m playing through the level again, I got to a point where I’m researching items for my custom engine, I have 3 custom engines so far, and after they are researched when I go to make a new custom engine the items I’ve researched do not show up. I guess this is a bug? Is there a way to fix this since I cannot do any upgrades to my games as I cannot upgrade the 3D Graphics to v2 for example?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Are you using 3D in your games?
Because just having them in the engine and then use 2D in your games will not level up 3D.

Yes I am using 3D v1 but I researched the 3D v2 and when I go to make a new custom engine the 3D v2 does not show up to include it into the new custom engine… even so I gave an example with the 3D Graphic, as I had researched other stuff like the Rich Backstory and it also does not show up when I’m making a new custom engine so on and so forth…

Rich Backstory does not have to be included into the engine, just researching is enough for it to show up in the world design features in dev stage 3.

As for the graphics, it is most likely something you are not doing something right, otherwise we have a complete new bug in the game.
No offense.

Just to be sure.
You did actually went into the research menu and researched 3Dv2? The pop up window, saying it’s now available does not suffice.

Sorry my bad, tried it just now and the Graphics 3D v2 shows up in the new custom engine… Another thing I trained one of my staff to specialise in Technology since he got over 700 in Technology but after he completed the training nothing happened… should something happen?

The three training types have a cap on them.

Book Studies: 500

G3 ( Practice, Practice, Practice Training: 700

Teach and Learn: 900

So you need to use a higher level of training.

I can’t remember about specializing in Tech, but specializing in Design reduced the amount of money needed to maximize R&D research. For example, if you’re spending 3M/month, with 3 people trained in Design you’ll max at 2.7M/month for the same speed of research.

Extra Technology Specialist reduces the costs of your Hardware Lab, just like the R&D Lab.

No that was not my question, if I train one of my staff to be a Design Specialist I would get the R&D Development lab which I haven’t yet got anyone to 700 points in Design… but I got one of my staff to 700 points in Technology and I trained him to be a Technology specialist, after he completes it, the Hardware Lab should be unlocked right? Or if I specialise someone in Technology nothing happens? Or maybe I need to get someone to 700 Design points to unlock the R&D Lab and then the Hardware Lab will get unlocked by itself?

The Hardware Lab is researched in the R&D Lab, so you would need a Design Specialist first to unlock the R&D Lab.

Yeah but in order to research the Hardware Lab in the R&D Lab I would need one of my staff to be a Techology specialist which now I have, and you answered my question because I now know that I need to get the R&D Lab in order to get the Hardware Lab… Thanks

Changed from Bug to questions and thanks for all the awesome info Jay :leopard:
