Yes, it will include improvements and new stuff that will be in the steam version(that is also coming out in August 2013)
They have been fairly conservative when it comes to picking what information they release. As far as the community knows, it’s going to be a fairly heavy updates in terms of balancing and difficulty.
It looks like the update is going as planned for a mid-late August release so thats good.
