Is it against the rules to post links to kickstarter on the forums?

I don’t know if its against the rules, but, it seems like its bad taste to advertise from a kickstarter for someone else’s game on Greenhearts forums. If its your game then perhaps you should develop your own website and forum and then share the website link instead. but to solicit money on someone else’s site just doesn’t sound like a good idea to me.

I’m developing my own game. I am asking if it is alright for permission to post a kickstarter for the game when the kickstarter is up. Why would I advertise here instead of on my own forum? Because I have no games. I have no community to look at the kickstarter. I’m not literally taking money from their pockets. We would be simply posting a kickstarter, so that:
A) We can get some people looking forward to the game
B) Get some money for development costs
I’ve been on these forums. It’s not like I just made an account, posted the kickstarter, was never heard of again.
So, before you go talking to people about how it is a bad idea, and how they should create a forum just for a kickstarter, please take in mind that I am simply looking to get hype and necessary funds.

At the moment we have no problem helping spread the word of new games, apps and software etc.
If we become flooded with advertising however we will revise the situation.

I think they are referring to apljee’s response to my opinion. I did feel like apljee was kind of bitting my head off. but Greenheart gave the go ahead to advertise so I guess its all good.
