Ideas from LOLrusboy; Episode 1

Hey devs and fans! I’m Sam, or as you know me, LOLrusboy. Today, I want to share with you my idea for a new marketing choice! I think it would be funny and great if in the next update, they added the option to have a movie be made about your upcoming game! I loved The Wizard, so I think it would be such a cool idea to add that! PLEASE! My other idea for today is, lower the amount of research points gained from contracts you’ve already done. I know you devs want realism, right? So why would I need to do research on the Vacuum Robot AI again if I already know how to do it? There are some exceptions, like with the Board Games contract and the Movies contract, but seriously, you know where to remove those research points. If you devs want to know specifics, just tell me in your reply! Thanks for reading!

Bringing you great ideas since September 2013.

There are countless vacuum robot AIs that can be produced. There’s no one solution to the problem. It depends on the resources available for the machine, the market segment being targeted, the specifications of the design, and other issues. There’s no reason to believe you’d gain fewer research points from your third vacuum robot AI than you did from your first. Do you believe that companies which produce vacuum robots can’t learn how to improve their later models over their first ones?

Contracts don’t give many research points to begin with. They give little insights, not big ones, and since they never increase your skills at producing games, they’re not very relevant ones either.

Is this one of those 1 Episode only, cancelled due lack of succes? :stuck_out_tongue:

Contracts generate Research Points and that is basically the only reason for doing contracts.

And movies made of your games?
How would that work?
Top Hits get a contract offered?
What if you make 80% Top Hits, do you get movie contract spammed?

Thanks for your ideas

  1. Nope. Company still thriving after 62 years of the gaming industry. (Wow. My character is freakin old.)

  2. Not really. In the beginning of the game, people use it for money, because that kind of money is big money for them.

  3. I mean like it like this; You go to the marketing menu, and for 100M, you can have a movie made of your game. This would probably be best used on a AAA games, as you give the directors ample time to at least come up with a movie that is 1980’s B-Movie quality. Good enough for me.

If you need contracts to make money, then you are already in for bankrupcy.
An average contract will take you 4 weeks to complete when you are alone in the garage.
A small game takes about 6-8 weeks to complete and provides you with a lot more income.
That 4-10K contract reward won’t help saving your company.
