I totally misread that.
Game Dev Tycoon 2 āuntitledā
I want next GDT 2 to become more realistic like in real life. I love GDT and Iām still playing it. Greenheart games should continue working on making a new game for the gamers. I have a lot of respects for Greenheart games.
Ideas for next GDT 2:
Companies - Pick a logo that matches the name of your company.
Offices - Offices should look more realistic than the currently GDT. In Offices, you can buy and change desks and computers. DLC for more computers and desks.
Employees - Human resources, engineers, developers, designers, and game testers. You as a CEO, you review the job applications, and then call them set up for the interview. Suppose a employee has a BA and has a bad background check and his/her GPA was very good. Maybe you decide to hire or not to hire him/her.
Salaries and Bonuses - Employees average salary would be between 35k to 160k a year. If the games sell very well and you pay your employees cash bonus for their hard work.
Games and consoles - Game consoles should look in 3D, when you decide to rotate the console where you want to put HDMI in the back and disc tray in the front. And secondly, the employees should take a step by step making a video game. For instance, the designers start to making a game first to pick the graphic, and the developer pick the engine last. You send the games to the game testers and they will let you know if the games have a lot of bugs.
For the gamers - I hope we can donate money to support the greenheart games. I hope they can put our names in the game. You would hire a designer that he/she has a same name as your.
What about Awards? Game of The Year and such?
Yes that too.
Ideas are excellent.
This will be the BIGGEST Game in Greenheart Games!!!
PLEASE MAKE GDT 2!
ILL DIE IF ITS DEVELOPING RIGHT NOW.
HALF LIFE 3 NOT CONFIRMED!!!
Nice list but I think another good feature to add in would be more feedback when you would make a game as reports and reviews donāt give you that much.
What you have said about having the offices look more realistic isnāt really the style GHGās is going for, plus the cartoonish but mature style gives the Game uniqueness to stand out.
I think that the should add just about everything that you said, along with almost everything everybody else added with mods.
Multiplayer killed the simulation genere
no it didnāt
Yes yes it did
FACEBOOK
Lolno thereās a difference. You have shitty Facebook games and good simulation games. Facebook games do not count under the simulation genre, and need to be under their special kind of hell. So no, it didnāt.
I didnāt want to start a new topic, and this thread seems like the best place anyway
Point 1: MMOs
I know how to make the MMOs of this game. But there is no reason to make one. Hereās a scenario that I went through last night, and itās identical every time I play.
I have about 1.4 billion in the bank. I decide, āletās make our first MMOā (iām post game in this scenario but Iāve done this within the 35 year limit too).
I make it AAA, MMO, and have 6 specialists (my CEO isnāt a specialist yet, iām working on making him ādialogsā)
I ensure my bars are all proper - no one bar over 50%, and the other two bars are generally 40% and 10%. I shuffle staff accordingly, putting specialists on their chosen tasks and doubling up the 40% with the 10%ā¦ everything is clockwork.
The game gets released and well, since I made an AAA game last time, I didnāt quite get a high enough design/tech score. I got 4/5/5/6 on my ratings. Itās mediocre. Thatās not a huge deal, Iāve made MMOs like this, and with the first expansion pack, got a near perfect 10. So whatever. My dudes were tired during debug phase, so I sent them on vaction and they are recharged, and refreshed. Instantly I work on the first expansion pack. There is no time, sadly, to train them. Well, the expansion is also AAA, and it takes just over a year to make. It makes a tech high score, but just barely, and doesnāt make a design high score, about 100 design shy.
It scores a 2/3/4/4. SOā¦ well it sucks. The second expansion pack I work on after two training sessions for each staff and all the bells and whistles ā¦ it rates only average. At this point, my funds are down to 1.2 billion.
So I take the MMO off the market and work on my next AAA game, and yay, it breaks records and it puts me back up to 1.5 billion.
The trouble with MMOs is, no subscription fees to maintain the cost, and after a while, you canāt keep up with training, to improve your staff enough, to make expansions break records. You have to work on it right away (expansion pack), else your MMO starts seeing red too soon and you go bankrupt.
Also I know I shouldnāt make an expansion pack ālargeā, if the last game I made is AAA. It would never break records.
This leads me to my second point.
Point 2: different scoring systems are required for different size games.
If I just want to make a small expansion I should be able to do that. But you cannot. Once you make AAA games, going back to ālargeā games is pointless.
The game needs different scoring for each category. So your āmediumā game is graded based on your last āmediumā game score, not your last game score, etc etc.
The game also needs a record of your last scores (as mentioned above in this post) so you know what to strive for.
Point 3: Specializations.
If you have a staff whoās a specialist on āsoundā, please donāt have āsoundā as n option available for another to select. Sometimes you just might forget what staff you have and could risk selecting a duplicate. Gray it out if someone else is already a specialist of that category.
Point 4: Assignments through each stage.
Let us assign our staff at the beginning for all three stages. With AAA games you will know you have to double up some staff members on different assignemtns and you will ideally want your 50% category in every stage to go to a single person, and have your 4 remaining staff shuffling the 40/10 categories.
I love our āgame hintsā, and like using those over the wiki. Earning them in game feels like a reward to the player for playing the game. I earned those hints, like those ā+ā and ā-ā of each category. I will use them.
However, I might not remember what categories are + and which are - for the game I am making, until Iām at that stage of development. Therefore I may make my mistake and put my sound guy on AI because the AI is a 10% and I think the sound is only a 40% only to discover itās a triple + and I should have had him saved for stage three.
So, let us pick our assignments all at once, for the three stages, and let them build the game. So we have all three categories showing and can assign at the start. This makes more sense in reality too. Unless something drastic comes along, youād want your game in a flowchart where people know their assignments and donātā have to ask 2/3 the way through a game. āum boss what am I supposed to do now?ā
The ability to provide your company logo (I translated by Google translator, errors do not pay)
I love these ideas. I think this would make the perfect sequel. maybe more new story too would be nice. It is a lot to add and would probably take a while, but the finished product would be awesome. It could even be set at modern times and have a story going on from there with new companies and consoles. The future could be cool too. The experience could be to be in the future of gaming. That would be pretty neat. But anyway I do hope to see a sequel For GDT someday. Maybe after game 2 or the game after game 2. Thank you at Greenheartgames for making incredible games to play! That is all.
I was wondering if the greenheartgames develop a Different type of genre gaming like:Movie where you can start record video at home and later on you can have a different variety of studio. At the end of the year, you can win award for the best movie(Only if you have a studio).
I know this conversation is about Game Dev Tycoon 2 but I was thing of different gaming Genre
The name of this game is called Movie Action Tycoon
Biznes Filmowy 2. (yeah, this game exists)
This another game Idea. What about a comic book publication
