Ideas for Another Game

Hello, I’m new here but I really enjoyed Game Dev Tycoon and am curious to what parts of the game others enjoyed and what others think could be added or changed for a second game. Here are some ideas from the top of my head:

• Become a fist-party developer. If you continue to create great games or create the game that a major publisher needs, they can offer you a contract to become first-party.
• Exclusive games. If you prove you can create great games, console leaders can offer money for exclusivity to their console.
• Pirating. If developing for the PC, you should have a higher piracy rate than for consoles and handhelds.
• Reviews. Increase the number of reviewers to six. I always looked forward to the reviews and having more to look at my game would be nice.
• Yearly releases. For some games in the industry, it is acceptable to have yearly releases of a game. For sports games it’s become more of a standard to release a game every year.
• Multi-Topic. Some genres would fit nicely together to have a broader appeal or a better focus on the narrative. For example, a Post-Apocalyptic/Zombie game can give the genre a more specified narrative.
• More Topics & Genres. Having more topics to choose from would help increase the diversity of games and help you create the type of game you would want to create. Examples could include Survival, Plat-former, Treasure-Hunting.
• Competition. It would be interesting if you could have a rival developer or if you could see what the top games are.
• More random events. One part of Game Dev Tycoon I really enjoyed was the different decisions I could make. Although somewhat limited, it was fun to patch my game and read the fan support or release an old engine that fans were crying out for. More events would help you feel like you are the developer. (Perhaps fans can demand you change parts of your game they didn’t like reminiscent of BioWare and the ending of Mass Effect 3)
• Hardware Rivals. You are one of the top developers out there and you have your own console. You are about to create your next great AAA game but decide not to release it on the mBox. In an interview with All-Games you talk trash about Vonny’s PlaySystsem. It would be interesting if you could affect the sales of the platform or damage your reputation with a publisher and audience of the platform.
• More upgrades. Deciding what upgrades to get for an engine was another great part. Should I go with Advanced Physics or Advanced Body Language? I would like to see more of these and a greater impact of them on the overall game.

What do you guys think of my ideas and what ideas do you have in regards to another game?

The ideas are great, but I’m afraid that Greenheart games devs are not going to put this into the game for a very simple reason. Right now they are working on the Mod API so it would be legal and (they probably would release the decompiler) cool.

As I said, the ideas are really good and I think a lot of coding guys would look forward into this.

Thanks for the ideas!
