I Always Fail at MMO

I Make a MMO,and then its Getting a 10 Rating,it sales like crazy, but after a while the mmo brought me Minus Cash! what chan i change?

Make expansion packs, that will reset your sales to whatever it would earn if it was a standalone game.

But i did a Expansion pack with some stuff i missed in the original game (in the original game i had no mini games for example, then i did mini games in the expansion pack for example) but i still fail,i dont get it! Also int eh wiki it says, that you should wait 40 (fucking) weeks before the next expansion pack is comming out,in this 10 months,m mmo gets in the minus area [Sooryz for Bad Englishz]

Try to get your expansions to a high rating, otherwise it will not make profit for 40 weeks.

i did a expansion with a clean score of 7,but even with it i fail D:

7 is not really good for an expansion pack/mmo… I think the minimum score to make a succesfull MMO is an 9+. You’ll have to make people specialists, you can do that if they reach level 7/8. How more specialists, how better the game. And ofcourse triple A can make it even more succesfull.

but i got a perfect staff D:

All wel-trained, specialists in differtent things like World Design, Gameplay, Level Design… all boosted them, really high Tech and Design points? If you got all that you should be able to make an perfect 10 mmo/expansion, and use Triple A because that will increase the things you can put in it, that will increase your game score and so your ratings. If all that is good, you have to get an 10, or you’re just doing it wrong in the development stages with using the people too much or putting stuff in the game while it’s on 50% or something… Good quality isn’t always high ratings.

okay, but thanks  this thread can now closed or something xD

Blue Background and stuff

xD

Well I got over 12 billion when just doing conventions and conventions. No expansion packs! That’s crazy for one MMO triple A.

Heck I get a perfect score on expansions and I still cant get profit.

It sucks big time. I had gathered over 1 billion in cash and thought I’d try that AAA MMO, with everyone being specialist and with about 900/500 in skills. The MMO gets a 9.75 score and sells over 20 million copies in an instant. After that I create a few normal games that do quite well. Then I think it’s time for an expansion, it gets another 9.75 rating. Soon I realize I have only 300 million cash left. The bloody MMO seemed to have eaten hundreds of millions.
Let’s look at World of Warcraft, they have 10 million subscribers, with everyone paying about 10-12 dollars a month… well You can do the math. Sure there is maintenance, but it can’t be more than a few millions a month.

There should be a way to manage maintenance so MMO’s won’t fail as often as well as a pop-up to let you know how long you’ve had the MMO up since time does fly in this game.

In order to continue your MMO:

  • do conventions from G3 or your own (optionally consoles also work)
  • do expansion packs
  • when you see the red line crosses above the green line, do quickly something of the above or you will lose money
