How do I research new graphic engines?

I currently have 2D graphics V5 and I’m only at medium games so that’s fine for now, but for some reason I can’t seem to get anything beyond 3D graphics V2? How do I research better 3D graphics? Do I have to make a series of rubbish game with 3D graphics 1.0 to get better ones?

Also, I can’t seem to get to the new office. The wiki says I need 1 staff, 500,000 cash and be in Y11M6W2. I have 4 staff, 15.3 million in cash and am in year 21. Why can’t I upgrade?

To get the better graphic engines, you need to use the 3D v2 more. When you reach lvl 3/4 with it, you then have the chance to research the the next level up.

For the next level office, I can’t help much there, as I have only made it to end game once and haven’t made another game since I have finals going on.
