Help And A Suggestion

OK I need a little bit of help but i also have a suggestion for you gods of game making (P.S wow this game is so epic well worth the $8.00 great work)(P.P.S Lets just say you got 4 tens)
OK enough of that lets get to question number 1
1.When you go bankrupt does it go to your last save or some game near the start of whatever office your in?
2.Any tips or tricks for making hit games and not going bankrupt all the time (Sigh)
Now for the suggestion
I know you said you weren’t planning on any updates but maybe adding newer consoles when they come out for updates would be cool
Ok so thats all keep up the good work and thanks for the help (If anyone actually does reply and help me)

  1. If you go bankrupt, you can either load up your last save or restart the level in the same building, so say you go bankrupt in the new office in level two, you can restart that level with the same amount of money from when you just moved in.

  2. What level you are on? In level two to three, its more advisable to go with Publisher Contracts, the better the game, the more money it comes in. If you are level two, you defs need a Publisher Contract.

  1. I think it goes back to your last manual save… or possibly your last auto save. The few times I’ve gone bust myself I’ve always scrapped the company and started again fresh, so I don’t know this answer concretely.

  2. Don’t show all your cards at once, so to speak. If you build a game engine with 6 new features, only turn on about 2-3 per game. This will give you a more gradual increase in game quality and slowly push up the target score you need to achieve. In addition to this, I like to give my employees (and myself) a round of training in-between each game. I flip flop between training their primary skills (design and/or tech) and their speed.

If I think I can get another hit game naturally, I avoid making sequels or hitting trends.

One of the biggest mistakes a new player can make is to make their first medium game TOO good. If you’ve hired your two new employees and built a shiny new engine, the temptation is very strong to crank out an insanely good game right off the bat. And while you will get one ultra mega hit, your future titles will suffer as you won’t have the experience/research points to research too many more engine features to surpass the quality of your mega-hit, causing your next few games to suck and potentially sending you into the red.

I wrote a getting started guide: http://imgur.com/gallery/WJxyp/new to help you through the garage phase and get a rock solid start to your 2nd phase.

Thanks for helping Pinstar :green_heart:
