As I said earlier, I’ll share my ideas in this topic, so, let’s begin with my first one:
Name : New Devil
** Type of game : Adventure (zelda-like) or Turn-based RPG (Mario & Luigi saga-like*) **
Concept
New Devil shouldn’t be a single game but a series.
In this series, based on a fantasy/medieval world populated by sorcerers, warriors and many creatures, you play as an archaeologist, seeking for ancient divine relics with mysterious powers.
However, these relics can be used for the good as much as they can be used for evil (Of course, your character search them for the good)
In this world, there are many threats you will have to face : Evil sorcerers, creatures, demons, and many more. (I’ll list somes later)
However, all threats appearing in a single game are connected to one main threat. This is where the title of the series is making sense.
At the beginning of the first game, there will be a prologue where you learn how The Devil has been defeated and how its soul has been shattered and sealed in few relics
In each game, someone or something is taking the place of the Devil, the New Devil. The way they do it is different from one character to another.
It could be because the character is the new leader of the Hell or because he absorbed some kind of power. Each New Devil (final boss) has their own way to become.
Also, most of these New Devils are introduced in one of the previous game.
Here are some more details about the series :
Reccuring Threats
** The Red Guild **
The Red Guild is a terrorist organization. They are separated in many faction that you will also destroy one by one.
Causing a lot of trouble, they sometimes are the trigger for the big trouble of the story in the game.
For example, in the first game, the Infernal Troopers have as objective to bring the leader of the Hell back to live by opening a portal.
Infernal Troopers are part of the Red Guild, of course.
** Hell’s army (Demons) **
Isolated from the main world, Demons are more powerful than the Red Guild.
Their leader varies depending on the game.
Divine Relics
I’ve already though about some divine relics that could appear in the series :
** Horned Rock **
Give to the owner a very powerful physical strengh, allowing him to crush anything.
** Siamese Feather **
Make the owner immortal.
** Tin Branch **
Give to the owner the power to communicate with the nature : seeing through tree, talking with animals and give them orders and more.
I have idea for more relics, but I don’t think it’s time to talk about them right now.
List of some New Devils
** 1. Taffarel **
The first New Devil is Taffarel, a powerful demon who ruled the Hell after the banishment of the Devil.
The Infernal Troops had as goal to open a portal to allow Demons to come to the main world.
Then, Taffarel, his son, Galleran, and the leader of the Infernal Troops became the main threats.
Galleran fled the battlefield after the death of Taffarel and the former leader of the Infernal Troops.
** 2. Galleran **
The second New Devil is, of course, Galleran. He has been able to recruit some demons before to flee from the battle field.
He then began his quest avenge the death of his father. Galleran will do the same thing that the main character do : searching for divine relics.
At the end of this game (the second one), Galleran will become someone very powerful with the help of all relics he collected (including the Horned Rock, the Siamese Feather and the Tin Branch).
** 3. Friend **
I don’t have name for most of the characters. However, the story behind the third New Devil is almost done.
One of your friend has been in contact with relics while studying them. Without knowing, one of these relic contained a fragment of the shattered Devil’s soul.
He will enters in a murderouss rage and destroy an entire village. Then, he will begin to seek for the other relics containing the other fragments of the Devil’s soul.
