From buying the game, I managed to clock some 55 hours of gameplay without a single crash. Sure it stuttered a bit when I had R&D + Hardware Lab + a game being made all at once but no crashes. I took some time away from GDT to play another game (Papers Please, which is also excellent :)) and have now come back to GDT to try for my last two achievements. Suddenly the game crashes quite often, I get a not responding message followed by a prompt to close the program. What’s happened in the last week??
The only thing that is different for me is I moved where steam is installed from my D drive to my C drive. But the game was completely reinstalled and I started a new save, so i’m not sure why that would be an issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Ok it gets more curious. On closer inspection, after these crashes when I load the game up again, the save I was playing prior to the crash loads up but the data within the save is from a previous save I made weeks ago… I mean game history, funds, fans, etc. are all from a previous save that I can’t remember the name of, but with the company name of the save I was playing prior to the crash…
Are either of your C or D drives more than 95% full?
have you tried starting a new game?
The “Stopped Responding” message is a windows based error though not a Game based one so i would suggest its related to your C drive. Do you get windows explorer has stopped working/responding messages?
It’s not a Drive issue because nothing else does it. No my drive isn’t beyond 95% full. And the problem is clearly game related because of the information I gave regarding my save game
