C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Game Dev Tycoon - Steam\Local Storage
I navigated to this location… deleted both files in there… loaded the up and all my game saves are still in there… I turned off cloud syncing on steam… anyone know why saves are still there???
I tried uninstalling and deleting the game folder and reinstalling… loaded up the game and its still there… arg…

Hmm, well tbh all you have to do is open the save files (localstorage.something or whatever) with a text editor and Ctrl+A DEL. Save it and it should make a new valid file, or so I’d hope 
Also not the journal file, it’s not the primary save file.
tried that… doesnt work… lol WTF… thats weird…
I installed the 1.4.2 version non steam… lol no game saves… but disappointed at the steam version…
Disappointed because of indestructable saves or what? You could just “Start New Game” and set the save slot over whatever other one. Anyway good luck
Whenever you play on steam, your savegames are stored on cloud.
So you can delete your local files, but every time you start up steam it will update from the cloud server.
To turn this off, you will have to go to the Steam menu ( upper left in Steam ) Go Settings > Cloud and disable Cload synchronization.
Edit: If you are not playing Steam version deleting
C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Game Dev Tycoon - Steam\Local Storage
will not delete your non steam saves.
In order to delete Non Steam save files you will have to delete
**C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Game Dev Tycoon\Local Storage
