I make perfectly fine names with the limit.

I don’t know why so many people complain about this.

Yeah like LLLLN… I wanna Long Long Long Long Name

Like Dungeon Kingdoms of The King’s Dog: The Reckoning?

Yup, something like that

I’m just putting my name out there as someone that wants the names to be longer too. It would be especially beneficial for when you create sequels.

I think these fields are 20 length long to keep it ordered in the boxes which they are published at (The Selling Box etc.)

I too hope they will let us put as much as 50 characters in the name too.

People complain because if this is a simulation game about a certain industry, then that industry’s standards should be used maybe? Like “Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings” or “Need for Speed: Most Wanted” or you might as well go to “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim”. These are bestseller AAA games and there are many more examples. Such as the two separate Might&Magic series. So yes, the game name length is way too short, considering the industry

there are many long named games too.
like The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar , The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass , Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
and in game dev tycoon it’s usually not enough for me;
I made a military/action-rpg game and it sold really high counts
And then I wanted to make a sequel to it and The original game’s name was Call Of War
So I wanted to name the sequel “The Fall Of Call of War” the limit didnt let me to do it :frowning:
it would be nice if they add more space limit…
( Soryy for the bad english )

I want longer names too. I like using roman numerials for sequels but some names only let me put in numbers and other times not even that.

Pinguin: Rally Racers VII is way too long and it’s only 3 words with a number.
Pinguin: R.R IV is what I end up typing allot of the time. I wanted to come up with a name for a world but anything too long and I couldn’t type in so I ended up with the dumb name Pearl because it’s only 5 digits long

I have a few tips though. use 123 numbers instead of roman numerals, doesn’t look as cool but it works. use renew instead of reloaded. instead of Adventure you can use Quest, Journey, Tale, Storoy, other words that work in RPG tittles.
I like using : in my games to help. I wanted to name a game “Raymond the Time traveler” but I had to use “Time Travler: Raymond” which is just long enough and I can make other Time Travlers with different names. I just can’t make a propper sequel.

in a video someone suggested adding an option for a 2nd text window for sequels and expansions.

I agree, I was so disappointed when I saw that “Unicorns From Outerspace” (UFO/Action game) didn’t fit :-/
(It became “Unicorns From Oz”)

And am I the only one having trouble to move the cursor in the text (using keyboard arrows) ? (Linux)

I agree with this. Many of times I have to write down summarized titles to make them fit into the text box (Die Hard w/ veng., TLotR 2 Towers, etc)

So true…please expand the character limit to at least 35-40 characters long.

I could support this!

I also have that trouble with the ‘‘cursor’’ in the text on Windows 7. At first I thought it was my keyboard…

When you name your games, you should be able to give it the main title, then a subtitle like Deathspank: The Baconing
