As a big fan of movies, this game would definitely be a dream come true for me and for some guys. (Well some guys have already requested it). I definitely think that this game would be a hit.
It will let you play as a director in the movie industry, rivaling with movie great directors like Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, George Lucas, and etc… Of course you would start out like most directors in real life did , limited money and work hard to live the dream.

Different Genres should be: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Romance, Horror, Thriller, Crime, War, Historical, Musical, Sci-Fi, and Western… (Many more I know) – And can at least add up to 2 sub genres IE. (Comedy, Drama, Romance)

And you hire actors/actresses that will lead, support, etc… Of course different actors/actresses that excel more on their own specialty genre… Like Jim Carrey (Comedy), Meg Ryan (Comedy-Romance), Kate Winslet (Romance/Drama), Clint Eastwood (Western), and you’ll have guys who are good at everything like Tom Hanks and Jack Nicholson.
Some are high-talented that could make big hit movies on their start (High Budget and not really affordable on your start), some are trained first to reach that star potential (Affordable at start) and some are mediocre actors (Cheap)
Supporting actors costs 50% less than leading actors.

Movie Ratings : Kind of the same thing with the one in Game Dev Tycoon (out of 10, out of 100, out of five stars)
Film Critics like (IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, tv.com, Metacritic) will give out the ratings and give the criticism, the criticism will affect the actors/actresses popularity if it is great + popularity for them and gain experience at the genre, if it sucked they will still gain experience not as much but not gain popularity or even worse it will decrease their popularity.
If you keep on making bad movies with that actor/actress, there will be a possibility that he/she wouldn’t accept another role for your movie or would accept it but if you offer him/her bigger money.

There should be awards for the actors and for the directors every year. For every award your movie gets, you would get good reputation or popularity. And awards for actors adds bonus to their performance, their budget, box office for the movie, and popularity.

Well… the amount of times this is requested. And the amount of times the ‘real movie lovers’ have never heard of The Movies…

Well, I have actually tried that myself and didn’t enjoy that much but when I’ve played Game Dev Tycoon I knew I was gonna have fun because it has that welcomy-feeling, and I just want to have that feeling while playing that game and I think GreenHeart can make that a great game like Game Dev.

I agree with that. I just couldn’t come up with the feeling you ever played The Movies. :stuck_out_tongue:

Clint Eastwood isn’t just Western movies he was a quite a lot amount of War movies such as Heartbreak ridge and others I forgot about.

Yes, I know but I’m putting up the best at that respective genre and Clint Eastwood is one of the best at Western movies. Like I have put up Jim Carrey in comedy but we all know he can act seriously too in dramas and romance like he did in The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. And Meg Ryan’s movies can prove that she is a well-rounded actress can act well in dramas, romance, comedy, and also can be daring.

The Movies was really cool game. But it wanted to be too many things. And thats where it bogged down.
