So, I have played this game multiple times and have had to start over every time due to bankruptcy. The PROVEN qualities to make a good game, PLUS using the formula Leads to random scores every time, no matter what kind of trend. The Sales do NOT match up, the matching set qualities mean nothing, and the game can not be won with wild unpredictable numbers. Hey guys! The trend right now is strategy even though the systems that are currently out that you can use are not supportive of strategy games! That makes real sense.
Sorry, but I will be going back to Game Dev Story, the original makers.
Its put down to a science, and I have The +'s on everything. EVEN THEN the game scores only around 5-6 and the money starts going negative when your upgrades you make dont pay off.
This game does everything to keep you down when you are low on money, the trend stops right before you release, if its hype is high, and scores low even though everything you have set up goes with the console, maturity, game styles, etc, Which make NO SENSE at all. The loan times are horrible, Not once have I bankrupted in Game Dev Story, and this game just takes the cake in confusion.
It sounds like you aren’t training your staff. Training is key to success. You don’t need to do a round of training between every game, but it doesn’t hurt. You need to do a round of training between at least 2/3rds of your games. When you do train your staff, train them only once per training session. They gain little or no benefit from repeated training in a short period of time.
Good slider positions help, but they’re not as important as developers who know what they’re doing.
Also, the wiki is outdated, a fact exacerbated by the reduced wiki-dependency of the Steam Release. I know some of the specific ways it is wrong. I’m not going to go updating it myself because I don’t see wiki-play as the ideal.
I am sorry, but the problems you brought up has nothing to do with the game.
You might want to swallow some pride and admit that you still need a lot to learn about the game.
You didn’t put the right people to the sliders and you didn’t train them
As i’ve said, you didn’t train your staff, and if hype is high, but your game sucks, you get negative critics. Just take a look at Resident Evil 5.
Don’t you talk nonsense with cake in your sentences!
Although the guys have been harsh here what they said is true.
And just to be clear I am not a dev, im community support.
Game Dev Tycoon although inspired by Game Dev story, was always intended to be a more advanced game with more intricate and thus harder gameplay. Created more for the “PC Gamer” than the “Mobile Gamer” generations. That being said Daniel and Patrick did their best to make it accessible to a wide audience.
When i played Game Dev Tycoon for the first time, i did not use the wiki, I did nearly go bankrupt, i took a loan, created tried and true games with known good combinations like Spy/Action. Fantasy/Strategy RPG/fantasy and paid back my load in due time.
The wiki is outdated and above all it is user created. Sometimes when i do read the wiki it makes me scratch my head in wonder.
