Battlezone

Recently, a remake of the old Atari game Battlezone has been released by Jax Games, a company based on retro gaming. The owner Zak Garbaldo has said that his company is all about 8 bit and remakes. He says that he will try to get some licenses for consoles, but currently, they will be stuck making PC games. More news to come.

Ubisoft has released several item from when the returned from ‘shut-down’.

They first released an upgrade to the UChat and the Charcoal system for Velvet. This will enable the platforms to have faster internet connections and more a more streamlined virtual economy.

Secondly, the 3 games they released; the first was a sequel for Grand Theft Auto, and boy did was it good! It received excellent marks and passed the Ubisoft Quality Mark with flying colours. The first beta testers were so addicted that they played for hours.

  • The next was a sequel to the new franchise ‘Day of Death’ where you play as a Spec-Ops member in a group. This time you face a zombie outbreak in the south-east near Seattle. Zombies have overrun 12 different states, and the American government has closed off all borders. Your little group has been sent to wipe them out…

  • The last game was a little online game available only on Ubisoft’s PC. Called New Star Soccer, this little game harnesses real-life soccer game-play into a little 36-bit graphics. This revisits the Retro age of gaming, and is a nice little memento of what gaming used to be like. Users rated it 4.55 out of 5

Ubisoft is willing to renew it’s contract with Velvet Corp. and is awaiting confirmation from CEO Gaben Newb.

Lastly, Ubisoft has confirmed that it is not selling the franchise ‘Assassin’s Creed’ and is hoping to resume developing it. They wish to co-operate with other companies on this.

In an effort to ‘reboot’ the Retro age of gaming, Ubisoft has granted Jax Games permission for the Umagine and the UNleash. They have also sent them 5M, in an effort for them to keep going. Well done Zak!

Zak Garbaldo has recently gotten the licenses for the Umagine and UNleash, and he says he plans to make a new game for them called Epix Quest, a game made in homage to old-school 8-bit JRPGs. It will have music composed by world-renowned chiptune artist Riotman, and it will have tons of free artwork for download. It will be released soon.

Ubisoft has detected a trend in the old Atari pixel games, and in turn, have bolstered Minecraft - a game that they developed years ago. The updated it so that it includes many different types of animals, insects, weather and NPC’s. They are also planning to release another update focused mainly on questing and RPG.

Epix Quest is released! 60 year olds are flooding Gamestopsigns! It has received lots of praise for its amazing throwback to the old days, and it seems that it will be quite a successful game!

Ubisoft has reached for the stars. Literally! They’ve announced plans to send an advanced satellite into space. This will increase game speed hundred-fold now that they don’t have to share stations. This is planned to cost them 300 M of their 2500M. They are making an offer to Jax Games if they want Ubisoft to send a side-project satellite into space.

Ubisoft has released the icon for their satellite:

Jax Games has accepted the recent offer for a side-project satellite, as they wanted to see how well an 8-bit MMO action game would turn out, and they did not want any crashes on launch day. The game is called X-Forces, and it will be a Space-Action game, with a first-person perspective, much like Top Gun the NES game. It will feature an infinite universe, but Jax Games said they will pay for the storage. More news to come.

Here is a fan art predicting the launch of the satellites:

ROLEPLAY RULES UPDATE

Unfortunately, because of the frequently asked question ‘What time is it?’ it is now customary for people to put the date at the top of the post eg.

Jak has recently announced that he will be hosting a new convention, but it’s not just for his company. He wants to bring retro gamers together in the big Retro Game Roast! Retro gamers from all around can enjoy nice BBQ meals while enjoying their favorite games or talking about them!

29, 6, 2014

In preparation for the Retro Game Roast, Ubisoft has started making a car/pixel game. Is it to be called Grand Pixel, a parody of the real-life Grand Prix. This is to be based on 16-bit graphics, a change from the high-tech 3D graphics that has shaped the market over time. Ubisoft has also created a fundraiser for various needs called ‘Retro Raiser’. Although Ubisoft will not be attending.

Jak G. seems incredibly surprised that Ubisoft will not be attending, and he has recently asked Cazran what the reasoning behind their choice was.

In answer to Mr. G’s question, Ubisoft replied 'Although Retro games are a nice memento, their time is over. We know that. It’s not bad to not let go. But we’re striving to be the best.

The convention has started! Retro lovers all over have been flooding the gates of the Convention Center in Downtown Silver Spring of Maryland, nearby Jax Games HQ. The stocks of Jax Games have risen extremely today!

(I’m gonna be afk for a bit.)

We at Breath Coding has released what we call “SimuEarth” for the Umagine. We were very happy when IGN gave it a score of 8.5 for Being a strategy game that really makes you think what you doing but the only thing that hold them back is that the first time playing the game is really difficult unless you bought the guide for the game. But as sales are going im going to say were making a pretty good profit.

Ubisoft isn’t going to compete with SimuEarth, and instead is pondering whether to sell the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Franchise, or continue it.
