Fun stuff to do in game

Just to add a little fun on the side, I decided to do spoof titles of existing companies and their past titles.

So I founded ‘Economic Arts’ - pun intented.

Went ahead with my first title and named it R.U.L.E. (M.U.L.E)
Of course it didn’t sell very well, first game and all…

So I decided to do a sports game ‘Pun on Pun’ (One on One), which did just a little better.

Next, I chose to do one of my G64 favorite games, and called it ‘Caldron’ (Archon).
It did pretty good, so I moved on to the next game ‘The 7 Cities of Mold’ (The 7 Cities of Gold) which, opposite to the real game, was a complete disaster.

Moving on to one of my favorite genres I went ahead and made ‘The Guards Ale’ (The Bards Tale) - my biggest successs so far.

Next up, i did a load of mediocre games:
Racing Reduction Set (Racing Construction Set)
Infant Music (Instant music)
Superstar Fight (Starflight)
Straight or Die! (Skate or Die!)
Rainy Golf (Zany Golf)
Rastapopoulus (Popolous)
The Immoral (The Immortal)

Then my second new engine was done, and I went all-in starting a new franchise; from here on known as ‘Dong Commander’ (Wing Comander)

Didn’t turn out to be the success I hoped for so I went for a Military/Action called ‘Pressured Dike’ (Desert Strike), that turned out to be a huge success.

I’m having a blast coming up with these spoofs
Try it, it adds a little bit of fun on the side

EDIT: Games added

Need for Weed (Need for Speed)
Dungeon Sleeper (Dungeon Keeper)
System Block (System Shock)
Demand & Conjure (Command & Conquer)
Metal of Dishonor (Medal of Honor)
SSEX (SSX)
Cattlefield 1942 (Battlefield 1942)

I created Hatcom (Pun Intended) and named myself Haruhero Tsujimoto

List of my games :

  • Lost Earth : SC (Lost Planet : Extreme Condition)

  • Residential Evil (Resident Evil (PC Port))

  • Phoenix Wright (Gyakuten Saiban)

I’ll be back if i create any more games.

Didn’t do a lot of spoofs, but heres a couple.

Pro Creation Soccer ( Pro Evolution Soccer )

Metal Gear Liquid ( Metal Gear Solid )

Comply & Conquest ( Command & Conquer )

Ping ( Pong )

I’ve played several times, and usually do a different catalogue of games each time. There are a few recurring titles between my various play-throughs, though.

Guerilla: military/action series aimed at adults. If I use this series, I usually make one per engine and they always do really well. I’ve made Guerilla games on 4 different play-throughs. I envision these as contra-style games in the 2D era, transitioning into first-person shooters with 3D graphics.

The Longest Drive: racing/RPG, general rating. Sometimes these do really well, sometimes they bomb horribly. I usually only make one or two sequels, if any. I make the first one regardless of risk because this is the sort of game I’d like to play. In retrospect, CaRPG might be a better title. I imagine Gran Turismo, but with experience bars and skill trees.

Night Heat: romance/adventure series aimed at adults. Regardless of how far I am in the game, I always use 2D graphics for Night Heat games. These also tend to do well, up until 2D graphics v5 start losing their steam. I’ve made Night Heat games on 3 different play-throughs.

My Pretty Pony: multiple game series within the same franchise, always targeted at a young audience, my version of MLP. The mainstays are Pretty Pony Tales (because Pretty Pony Adventure doesn’t fit in the title box), which are fantasy/action games, and Pretty Pony RPG. Both of those tend to do really well. My Pretty Pony is a series of virtual pet/casual games, and those are kind of hit-and-miss. Then there’s Pocket Ponies, which is fantasy/action but always on handhelds like the Gameling or GS (and later, the grPhone). I’ve made Pretty Pony games on almost every play-through (I’m a fan, sue me :stuck_out_tongue: ), although in one play-through I named them Cute Ponies instead. I imagine the early PPT and PP titles to be like Crystal’s Pony Tale (Sega Genesis game, look it up) and MPP to play a bit like those Digimon or Tamagatchi keychains but with graphics (and horses).

Everything else I make on any other playthrough is just whatever topic/theme/title combo feels like a good idea at the time.
