Like the title says, I think fans should be divided into different types of people, like you got the people that love action games fully, you got the people that love strategy games, like me, I like strategy 75% and action 25% so something like that should come into the game. So say if someone likes Simulation games, then a small benefit should go towards Casual games to make different types of groups.
I smell an opportunity for pie.
Pie charts, specifically.
Great Idea

I like this idea, thumbs up
I really do like this idea. To add to that, have pie chart for YOUR fans, and a chart for the general gaming public. When you make games with a genre that is popular with the general public, you’ll gain more fans. Genre trends would temporarily make that genre HUGE, thus leading to the potential of gaining lots of extra fans.
Meanwhile, your fan base would generally be made up based on the type of games you make. If you make a game that appeals to Simulation gamers, future simulation games would have a sales boost since all your sim gamers would buy copies regardless of the reviews.
There would have to be some mechanic to prevent companies from hyper-focusing on one genre and give benefits to developing a variety of genres. Just tossing out ideas.
And Pinstar, you just expanded my idea greatly, good job
