its getting really annoying seeing all these fakes. We suggested ways to stop it but they weren’t ever implemented. Its almost like were guinea pigs for announcing new fake mods.
But the problem HAS grown
@kristof1104 I know how frustrating it is to see your own hard work copied. Unfortunately there isn’t much that we can do. As I said previously, this is a similar situation to DRM on the game itself. It just creates a bunch of work, inconveniences everyone who genuinely wants to enjoy the game and in the end it is fruitless anyway as someone will work around it.
On the upside the mods I ban have hardly any visitors, nor subscribers. In fact the ones you quoted had only two(!) subscribers total. Compared to the many thousands that use your mods, I’m pretty sure that the real CheatMod will always come before the fakes.
NOOO, DON"T LEAVE
I"LL GIVE YOU CAKE IF YOU STAY!
(Also, to add to this, I really hate people who steal other people’s mods like @Venomous)
And I thought
"Wait a second… That uploader is venomous!"
No.
I’ll not spoil what is the mod I’m talking about (check the latest mod)
but here was my reactions when I saw it:
banned
What… The heck!
thanks for letting us know. we will do a spring clean in the next days.
They should all be gone now. Please let us know if you see any new ones. Ta
OH MY GOD IT’S ENGLISH FORUM !
Dont use caps lock, Lil
I would add a “seal” to the form to make sure they know it’s the real uploader. The other mods, that would be obvious clones, would have different seals, so you could tell who made the fakes and who made the real. The seal would show in a flash animation, so they couldn’t copy and paste it.
Couldn’t they just download the flash animation and put it into their own description? And that has the same problem as making them sign their mods:it’s easily circumvented and it just adds more work to the mod developers.
Never fear Charlies here, just let me know any you see, I check regularly too and they will be disappeared!
