Dutch translation problem click/touch

Hi there fellow Dutch translators. I’ve run into a problem with the click/touch verb. for example, I’m really not sure how to translate the following sentence:

To start a project simply {0} the screen to bring up the research menu

{0} being the click/touch verb in this sentence. While you can simply do this in English, in Dutch you’d need the following:
{Klik op} het scherm
{Raak} het scherm {aan}

I’m trying to work around this, but you’d really end up with weird sentences, using the same click/touch macro in other sentences. How can we fix this?

Would ‘Tap’ translate better than ‘Touch’?

So the English would be ‘Click/Tap on’ rather than ‘Click on/ Touch’.

Might try to use this:
Om een project te beginnen, volstaat eenvoudig het {0} het scherm.

Then use ‘aanraken van’/‘klikken op’ for {0}.

Ahh, so simple! klik/tik would work perfectly! Thanks for the help guys!

Edit: this translating business is more of a challenge than I thought! Love it :slight_smile:

Ik zou gebruiken:

{0} op het scherm, om het onderzoeksmenu te openen.

of

Om het onderzoeksmenu te openen, {0} op het scherm.

Translating should be done so the sentence would sound natural in the native language.
Word for word translation almost never works.
