It began way back in 1947, two years after Indonesia finally reached her independence…
Thomas T. Goldsmith and his friend Estle Ray Mann created The Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device.
It was a simple device- one that was programmed to be a missile simulator meant to amuse its users…
And so it began. The Odyssey, Intellivision, Colecovision, NES, Master System, 3DO, SNES, Genesis, so on and so forth.
This created many video game series(es?) that will continue to this day. I’m sure you’ve all heard of The Legend of Zelda, Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man, Final Fantasy, Crash Bandicoot, Prince of Persia, Megaman, Ghosts and Goblins , YOU NAME IT.
We had so many companies and home consoles to deal with. All those times begging for an N64? Totally worth it. Back then, we had loads of crap. Peripherals, Controllers, Merchandise… So many gaming companies, creating their own consoles and STUFF!
But now…
The home console industry has been overtaken by the Big 3. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. Sure, there is some companies that still try to make one, but people really cared about these 3 big guys fighting about. Xbone! PS4! Weeeeee U!
“PC Master Races” and “Console Peasants” being shouting here and there… 10 year olds playing call of duty and mature games in general… EA is still stupid… 5 year olds having iphones to “game” on them… Gah, It’s disappointing, really.
There are so many games! Most of them good, but more and more triple A games being developed for next gens, it’s kind of overwhelming. Will we have “quadruple” A games? Video games so massive for your PS6’s and Xbox One Three’s, you can’t even begin to comprehend? Or will video games then be disregarded, alienated from the world like they were never there, as more and more bad games keep getting developed?
Will there be another video game crash?
