even with the new feedback system, its so frustrating!
i just cant seem to figure out how to make a good game, i done some 6 and 7 rated games, one or two 9 rated…
i got 2 new workers both very skilled one in design and one in tech, but it seems that it got no effect =(
any ideas? what is your success rate? any tips will be welcome
Just fire them.
I was develop with 2 guys too but i was close to broke. So I fire them and safe my company.
Make simple games those always works and for me, I just make RPG well, in the dev of the others I’m a mess xD
Assign your employees to the slot their good at. Make great combos with the topic and genre and don’t forget the sliders are correct for it’s genre. And basically, have fun. I usually win because i have fun with the game (sometimes). And on your first try, don’t use the wiki to help you. Play it your way, and if you fail, try and try until you succeed.
Just keep making games and doing research to see what works and what doesn’t. That helps a bunch. I went bankrupt 4 times before I started to figure out how to succeed in this game.
Here’s some helpful tips
1.You need a balanced Staff. Your character should be balanced between both Design and Tech. Your Emplyees should both be vice versa (ie: one has 700 design 300 Tech. Other has 300 design and 700 tech) This keeps a balanced design:tech ratio, so you should be good when creating games.
2. Slider Allocation. You need to follow the slider rules. Here’s a Link to a rough Slider allocation Table : http://goo.gl/hnZ2Kx This is a rough guide, so don’t expect it getting you good reviews all the time
3. Genre Specialist. If you don’t have a balanced staff, it doesn’t mean you cant create any games. Add up all of your design and technology. Whatever has the most, refer to this: If you have more design, you are better at RPG, Adventure, and Casual Games. If you are better at Technology, you are then better at Strategy, Simulation, and Action Games.
4. Good Topic and Platform Combination. This is a huge factor. It all depends on your combination of topic, platform, and target audience. This is your start to success. Here’s a link to good combinations: http://gamedevtycoon.wikia.com/wiki/Game_Development/1.4.2
There are so much more you should know, but I think that’s good enough :). I should’ve created my own topic xD. If you want to know more or if this helped, reply back. I’ll create a new topic for a Guide :3
