Custom console sales are so low it's not logical anymore... Any way to fix this?

Hey.

So I’ve developped my own custom console during a playthrough of GDT, and of course, the sales weren’t really impressive, but nothing surprising here…

But then I made 1, 2, 3 exclusive games (all of them were top hits: 9-10/10, 12M+ sales each, etc…), but it changed nothing.

I have a 2-3:1 ratio when it comes to games sales/console sales. How come ? I know you might say “Some people buy multiple copies !” (game broke, etc…), but seriously ? 3:1 ratio ? This is seriously illogical, and to be honest, pretty frustrating. If not game breaking, because if great exclusive games can’t sell a console, then what can ?

Is there any way to fix this ? I don’t know anything about programming so I just wanted to ask…

@Dadrik The sales of consoles is an area I have always found a little odd in GDT. If you look at these lists, you’ll see that a very good console, competing with the Xbox 360 and PS3 could sell in the range of 80mil. However having an extra console would drop sales of the others so you could estimate around 50-60mil in sales each if they were equally split.


Games however normally reach heights of 30mil in sales for a AAA title, although many tiles such as Skyrim (20mil) and Diablo 3 (15mil) reach lower amounts but still are considered highly successful. This larger amount compared to in-game could be explained with how your games last a very short time on the market whereas Skyrim has been on sale for the last 3 years as new. However considering that your games were exclusives, the figures may be more accurate since COD black ops sold 12mil on Xbox 360.

So the game sales may be quite accurate, but the console sales are definitely far off. Especially since yours games sold around 3 times as much as the console, which makes no sense at all.
When looking at console sales, release date, quality and games have a huge impact. For example the Xbox 360 did so well against the PS3, mainly due to its release date being pushed forward and having more exclusives due to the console being easier to develop for. It is clear though that consoles deserve a rework and I’m sure that if it isn’t modded in, it will be changed when GHG get round to GDT2.
