Crowd Funding Expansion?

So I was thinking. It would be cool if there was a crowd funding aspect to the game. It would work sorta like the contract system, but it would depend alot on your marketing skills and how much hype you can attain. You would present the idea of the game to people, build up hype, and see how much you can raise. Then you start developing the game, but your limited only to the money that you raised. If you exceed the limited you essentially fail that project. You can still release it but you cant fix any bugs it may have and the game knows that its technically not finished so that effects reviews and youl lose alot of fans as well.

Just some ideas to consider.
