Sorry. I’m sure this has been said a million times already and I could easily add this to any other post, but I just wanted to say that, as a fan of creative anti-piracy, this is probably my new favorite. Better than the Arkham Asylum one, even. I love it.
I’d never even heard of this game until I saw an article about the anti-piracy, and I came and bought it based solely on that article, so in a roundabout way I guess it worked as an advertisement for me. Plus: it’s only eight bucks for goodness sake…
If the developers put as much thought into the game as they put into their humorous jab at pirates, I’m sure I’ll enjoy myself!
I had not heard of the game, but read your blog post linked off of Blues News I think, and bought a copy solely based on your anti-piracy efforts. Nice marketing ploy too. Tried the game last night and its cute and fun. Top effort chaps
Ditto. I just bought it on the article alone, also I like strategy games, will se if I actually play it someday.Got so many games, but not enough time. Guess I’m something of a horder.
I too got the game due to an article about the anti piracy, You are combating horrible DRM (The kind that ruined Sim city 5, The Settles 7 and other good games for me) Yet keeping the awareness for what piracy can do to a studio.
Im not denying ive done some kind of Piracy some time, but its usually due to the horrible DRMs that makes the game unplayable if legaly bought or because i dont know if its a game i want to support (I did this with F.E.A.R and ended up buying a copy for me and several of my friends) doing this ive ended up buying HUNDREDS of games on steam (About 300 last count) and countless more on other services.
I salute you guys at Greenheartgames for this AWSOME sollution. Reminds me of the batman one and the “Pidgeon death” in ARMA2
Ive bought a copy and enjoy playing it so far. Might buy a few of my friends a few copies too!!
I wish more people would do the same, IMHO its fine to pirate a game, as long as you support the studio if you like it! Buy the damn game if you like it! Its the only way we will keep seeing good games on the market and the bad ones dissapear.
Looking forward to the next release you guys have Will definitivly keep an eye open for future releases.
Unfortunately I think the anti-piracy trick will hurt GDT more than help.
Don’t get me wrong: I’ve the original game.
But torrent cracked copies will be act like a negative advert for the game.
This is exactly what I came here to say. Had never heard of it until I heard of the clever anti-piracy approach. Bought the game at work… played it last night at home. Pretty addictive for me, but I keep going bankrupt in the second phase…
Like a lot of people here I gotta give you guys a high five. When I read the blog post about your “cracked version” I laughed my ass off I bought the game just because of this blog post, that and I support Indie games more then AAA titles.
