Bought the game on Steam and quite like it so far (actually, it’s eating up way too much of my time). I know the devs are saving ideas for the sequel (there will be a sequel, right? I mean, Greenheart has researched it? ), but there still are some improvements that won’t be too hard to make and could be fitted in a patch (or at least I hope so). Anyways:
- Scrollbars visually just don’t fit the rest of the game;
- In some cases the hints text can overlap with the rest (for example, the hint for the PC platform is quite long, it tends to makes a mess);
- There are no hints on the Find Publishing Deal screen. If you wish to find out which platform is currently ‘in’ and which genres and ages groups suit it, you have to first take a look at the Develop New Game -> Game Concept screen, return to the Find Publishing Deal page and make a decision. You could make it simpler by adding some hints there as well;
- Game History screen is a bit, well, lacking. The history is presented as a timeline-carousel, and we have no way to sort it differently, which would be nice. Like, sort it by units sold, cost to develop and maintain, income, profit/loss, score…
I hope we’ll see some if these things in patches to come. The last thing I’m hoping to see is perhaps a bit too much too hope for in a patch, but here it is: generating game reports is a great thing, removes a bit of sting from all of those trial and error efforts we all make when learning the right combinations. Right now, after the initial message the results of those analyses are available only as hints. It would be cool if we had a sort of notebook, where we could find all the game reports at a later date, saved and sorted. Just an idea anyway.
