before if i was about to go bankrupt i would give my self enough money to make a game to get my self out of bankruptcy for awhile but now i cant like i edited the cash amount but when i joined game it whent back to before and when i go edit the file again the money is back to the way it was did they patch the save file editing?
I can’t say for certain whether the saves have been blocked specifically from editing, but there have been a lot of changes in 1.4, so the save file structure will have altered subtly just from that. @PatrickKlug could tell you more if he is so inclined.
Also, you could try playing the game without cheats, so that you get a nice feeling of accomplishment when you make your company a success. This would mean that GHG could give you support if something were to break, too.

we still have the same opinion about save editing: if you want to, you can do it at your own risk.
what you are likely seeing is that you try to edit the local save file but the steam version is loading the one from the steam cloud.
you might want to disable steam cloud or edit the file in the steam cloud but I can’t tell you the location of that, at the moment.
Try with CheatEngine. I can’t guarantee you, that this will help you, but you should try.
start the game from it’s exe on the game folder, if you start from steam i think it checks every time you load if the save is “legit” and overwrite with the one it has on steam folder.

the only reason i cheat is because i already beat the game ounce barley so i just play it again but do it with cheats
