Can you work on 2 games same time?

I have this game. It’s so much fun. I’ve been playing for over a month. I have tons of ideas that should help improve the game.

  • Develop 2 games same time.
  • Own 2 companies.
  • Fix your games and get higher scores.

I agree, at some points during medium games I wish I could have my staff working on 2 games at once.

Also desperately wish there was the option to modify an existing Game Engine when you do a new research, instead of the $$$ to create a whole new one!

So in other words…you would like the staff limit expanded so you can put two different teams working on two different games which would be a great addition. Own two companies would translate to you owning a big company, and opening up another studio in another city for example and they can work under the same boss.

I want to release 2 games at once.
I really want it to be that way.

Agreed, and have more staff limit to 20 so you can work on three games max, but the cons of this would be the game would be less quality because of the staff and yeah. And open up another office in another city :3

Yeah, hadn’t considered the studio office, but why not?
Be able to hire 3 people and give them a game. Then, for some bigger games, you don’t have the dip in revenue as you work to finish one but the other is taken off the market.

For what it’s worth - for a seemingly simple game, the deeper I dig the more complex it is. I hope the developers realize when I offer ‘suggestions’ it is not ‘criticism’. I’m addicted just as it is.

Some games that should be simple go into complex conditions, and this is a game that would still be very fun if it was complex. But for working on two games at once, working with the not right staff, could hurt that game very much so there has to be huge cons.

We discussed this several times during development but decided against it. Having to manage more teams and games is certainly interesting but does not fit with the style of gameplay in Game Dev Tycoon. This might be something for the sequel (I still have reservations) but it’s highly unlikely that we will add this in this version.

Damn, thats a shame :\

I see more the problems with the performance at the moment, with 7 developers in the third office the game has big performance problems on my system when the game has to calculate many tasks at the same time. This makes it hard to extend the game with complex, parallel processes at the moment in my opinion. You might use another engine / language for more complex extensions / games in future.

Maybe something like having Game One in storage, developing Game Two, then releasing at the same time!

Yeah! That should do the trick.

I’d love to develop more than 1 game at a time. Having multiple studios would be great along with making 2-3 games in 1 studio as well with more staff. Also assigning more than 1 person to a job to take some of the work load off as well. I’d also love to be able to set pricing of games along with being able to make any size game I want. You can never make a good small game once you set the bar on that medium-aaa game.
